when your team can hold people in place for you to kill.

Yeah what does this mean? Just single player playing SF mid? If so, the max number of creeps that will be spawned in a lane by 10min is 82 if i'm calculating this correctly... 30s per wave, so 20 waves by min 10, 4 creeps/30s, 2 siege creeps at waves 7 and 14. But realistically since wave 20 spawns exactly at min 10, you won't get those, so a perfect lane would be 78/78 at min 10. So yeah. somewhere around 78/40 would probably be good.

You looking for 100 combined by 10 minutes.

Honestly, past the point where your lasthitting isn't totally terrible, playing 1v1s against a friend is probably a more fruitful exercise in a similar vein. Practicing against nobody can get you too used to lasthitting below the actual threshold, and doesn't get you used to players attacking one another fucking up creep aggro.

practise 1v1 sf with a friend whos good at sf. you will improve fast plus its much more fun. or just pick sf and play mid in pubs. mid is fun.

He does a lot more physical damage than people expect, a max of 208 extra damage per bash, he bashes you at least twice with his charge/ult, he disables for like 4 seconds. He's very tanky, but in big team fights, he still goes down fast without bkb.
unless he have Agh and bash everybody around him every 20 secs

tanky for sure, but remember when (assuming he gets one as it seems the standard) he activates his mask of madness, he takes the bonus damage. try to avoid focusing him until he does so, once he is taking the extra damage he can drop pretty fast

Can anyone illuminate me as to why NTH picked Treant in the recent Starladder finals? I didn't catch the games so I don't know how it went.

He's a pub stomper who thrives vs bad players because he can punish people who are out of position. Basically don't feed him. If you're a support, for gods sake don't farm lanes by yourself when you're not close to a tower. Stuns also own him, as does ghost scepter.
The only games I ever see SB doing well are the ones where supports feed him because they insist on not playing support and try to farm lanes by themselves. If you're not careless, Spirit Breaker doesn't get fed and gets owned in a carry vs carry fight because he's a relatively mediocre hero if he doesn't snowball.

Seemed like they wanted to end the game in the mid-game or do enough damage (2 rax minimum) to ensure the win. They picked Ogre & Treant to both buff the Lone D Bear, and kept pushing high-ground. Was well defended by H4nn1...I mean Fnatic.

Like liquid did today with ogre

They picked a lane that would likely not go blow for blow on the lane with kills, but rather would be really difficult to engage on. Ogre and Treant are some of the tankiest level 1 heroes in the game, and are really difficult to kill. Also, if you overstep, you still have a decent potential to kill a hero out of position with Ogre set up on leshrac, and right click power of treant / leech seed. You also have a good potential to dive, but not really used much.
Reason 2: slowly win the lane / superior CS
This is simple - with treant's ridiculous base damage, you slowly out CS the luna and deny her heavily, and win the lane through attrition / denying the luna really well...Not much else to say about this.
Reason 3: Bloodlust is awesome on Lone Druid Bear. Yup.
Reason 4: Picking a treant helps you win other lanes.
But, again, the question is the midgame / lategame teamfight / damage output of these supports. If you have trouble ending the game with these heroes (treant and ogre aren't great for this, obviously. Personally, I don't think they played it to their potential in being able to break the T3. I think if played properly ,they could have broken high ground a little better).

I think ogre is very comparable to lion. Reliable stun and good nuke damage, but instead of an aoe stun and a very good ranged harass, he has a ton of hp and BLOODLUST. Bloodlust is effectively +1 big item for your carry, and is brutal on hyper-late-game carries like tiny or bear.

Not really comparable, IMO.
Ogre's damage is really unreliable, and if you aren't lucky he essentially is just a walking buff for your carries. His stun is pretty insignificant in terms of duration lategame, comparable, and it is single target.
Lion's nuke always hits, and he has two really solid stuns (one is AOE, one is over 4 seconds long and nigh instant cast).
Lion is better lategame, if only due to unreliability of ogre's damage.

Just to clarify, both Hex spells (Lion's and Rhasta's) are both actually instant--they don't use their heroes' cast point. This is a property of the WC3 Hex spell that both spells inherited from the base spell.

speaking of rhasta, can his wards break ta's meld like furion can with sprout

On the advanced tooltip for sprint it says taht the damage amplification doesnt stack with mask of madness... does that mean that only one of the two takes effect, and if so, is it sprint? Because that makes MoM way better on slardar to me.

There's an old unfixed bug report that they do stack, and I just tested in game that it's still unfixed.
