You activate it so that it hits you during the 0.1 second invuln time.

Takes some practice and requires pretty low ping to do consistently.

Phase shift costs no mana, has a much lower cooldown, disjoints whatever projectiles are already in the air even if it hits you when you're back out of phase shift. Manta is not even close to level 1 phase shift, heh.

Well, considering its a dual lane, chances are LD is going to lose that lane and lose it bad (assuming they let you get near exp without killing you before level 5. once your level 5, all you can do is just auto attack with bear on whoever is in range).

I suppose all you can do is really catch them offguard and pull creeps when they dont expect it.

Edit: if they don't let me pull creeps well, I probably would consider going to jungle.

If you're playing a solo hard lane LD and not pulling creeps with the bear, then IMO, you're doing it wrong. Especially since they fixed it so you can't trap the bear at level 1 anymore.

In your example (just curious btw, what were the other heroes?) drow/puck have no way of stopping you (especially if drow doesn't go level 1 frost arrows) and you can probably get a double creep wave pull at level 1 against them.

Do this and you'll force them to use their regen early (bad for them) or miss xp (also bad for them). You'll also probably be level 2-2.5 depending on how well you did with this which is exactly the lead you need to be able to be fine in lane. Just worry about getting xp after that, then when they are severely underleveled get friends and kill.

Also as an aside, puck/drow both need items to have any kind of impact in mid game so you have to realize that by laning together they are killing their own midgame.

EDIT: Oh and also remember xp range is about the same as the bear's leash range, so just cs at max range and use only the bear to make it so the enemy has to move forward to harass you.

I probably should have said this in my original post but I was solo in the safe lane, the Drow and Puck where offlaning. The biggest problem wasn't getting exp (I made sure not to push the lane) or even getting some last hits. The problem was that they kept harassing my bear and I couldn't really pull it back or do some harass of my own because of the Frost Arrow slow. This meant I either had to resummon my bear or send it back to the fountain the heal up, the latter hurting my ability to last hit. Maybe I'm complaining over nothing, but vs most lanes I can use my bear to harass and my hero to lasthit. Drow's slow just seemed really good at 7 seconds duration.

For what it's worth, the other heroes where a Crystal Maiden, Invoker and Phantom Lancer on the opposing team. Our team was Ursa, Riki, Viper, Broodmother and me on the Lone Druid. We eventually won because for some reason we kept winning teamfights, probably because me and my bear kept getting focus fired (mostly by Drow, who destroyed me) while Riki and Ursa bursted everything down.

Just to answer your original question, yes it is a bug that the Spirit Bear gets slowed for the full 7 second duration. It's been reported, but hasn't been attached to the Known Bugs list because nobody's filed a complete enough report listing all the relevant skills (CM's Frostbite and the Storm Brewling's Cyclone have the right duration for example).

http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=68321 - Here's the bug report.

CK wisp is a common due lane as they can kill pretty much any solo in the game depending on the stun duration from CK. It is common to counter that with a dual mid of your own, as in 2v2 ck wisp isn't as strong.

welp its not working so well

EDIT: + Show Spoiler +
why did they sack bot lane though? Letting storm get that much farm so early seems not worth laning like that T_T

Not normal but it's "meta" on dota aswell. Dual stun mid isn't unheard of. You typically run it when you intend to kill, otherwise I find it's a waste.

Actually on that topic you would never see trilanes in Hon because 2-2-1 was considered a counter to it.You could pick 2 semi/hard carries and guarantee them farm, as well as guarantee mid game control off of winning the 2 lanes. Haven't watched or played Hon in over a year so not sure what's going on there but I was wondering why 2-2-1 is never used in Dota.

Clarification: By 2-2-1 i mean the dual safe lane, dual mid, solo offlane

You can't Bottle-Crow in HoN, which makes it harder for the 1v2 mid to stalemate. There are quite a few mids that can comfortably sneak XP/lasthits once they reach Bottle.

A long time ago. First they had it that bottle crow got you 2/3 charges on bottle, then they removed it completely.

Right now most common laning is dual mid jungle solo short and long lanes. Support in mid typically roams with bottle for runes and to help other lanes as necessary

i tried to get my mic working with dota/steam, but it wont work.
i enabled open mic in dota, assigned a hotkey and did the same in the steam settings (same hotkey).
mic-check of steam is fine, but dota still ignores my mic.

if i disable open mic, dota shows me the crossed out mic symbol ingame, when i enable open mic dota doesnt even show that im speaking and just ignores me.

i can make some screenshots in case my descriptions arent easy to follow.
so do you guys have any other ideas how to fix this?
Ooooh, look at it go
