In an 8 team tournament, you can run it in 4 days. 2 series each for first 2 days (max 10 games), both semis on 3rd day (max 10games), then bo7 for finals. Consider if how tournaments now are all risking max 12 games by scheduling 4 bo3 in a day, this schedule is even less taxing. | ||

That actually happened before. Both summit 2 and Game24 Season 1, granted game24 only had 4 teams but the summit 2 playoffs had b05's and it works. but single elimination is that bad in dota because there's alot of one trick pony teams and adapting + countering strategy is actually a thing. B05 most likely ensures the better teams win even if it's single elimination. The double elim is just so much better than b03 single elim, one trick pony teams are gonna own often in single elims but at least with b05 the weaker team almost never wins. | ||

If they lose twice then the other team is just better than them or at least they can't deal with that teams playstyle. Regardless that tournament the other team is just better. | ||
