Well that was terrible. From the start they seemed really shaky and ended up out of the tournament.
I just think that their draft was the worst, their heroes didn't have much synergy, they picked phoenix I think 3 times without actually having some sort of AOE stun to keep them in place, so bulldog will pop egg and the enemy team will either escape or easily kill him.
They needed a tree or enigma or magnus or some hero like that that can hold the opposition in place so that egg does damage.
Plus Loda played really terribly most of the time.
|
Why do people keep saying Loda played terrible? From what I saw he almost never had a chance in the early laning phase and early mid-game because of unfavorable lanes or drafts. I don't think he farmed terribly or played bad mid-late game with what he had.

really had high expectations. this should all but solidify the disband/retirement.
ppd was absolutely right: dont fix what ain't broken. GG

I was gonna post a long rant about how tired I am of rooting for Alliance and announce that I won't do it any longer. But I just can't.. As with other sports, when I pick a team to root for, I stay with them no matter what. I will never forget the TI3 grand finals, staying up the whole night watching it knowing I had to go to work just a couple of hours after the final game against navi. Eventhough they might never become a tier 1 team again I will still root for them and hope that they one day might break the meta again as they did with 6.78. Long live Alliance!
With that said I must say I feel sorry for the people coming in here to proclaim how bad Alliance is and talk trash about them, especially some names I know used to sport an Alliance flair. If you get enjoyment out of other people's misery, then I really feel sorry for you.

i had a feeling the bulldog pickup would mess up their groove

Of course we do, everyone does, you just felt a need to tell someone you are better then them to assert yourself. It's the same thought process behind it. I felt this was just desert after how they kicked Niqua and people in general like it when someones bad deeds comes back and bite them, it's called Karma and you can feel as sorry for the Buddhists as you like. Im sure they won't mind.
The major point being that Alliance is just not good enough and they showed it. My take on that team is that they are not ver skilled individually but that they were exceptional at working as a unit with a plan. When the chemistry is not there, more so then for other teams, it just falls apart.

I feel for you guys, burden also lost today so i know how it feels (a little bit). I assume there will be some changes in the squad again after ti5.
Even if they played the qualifier with niqua the chance for them to qualify would have been small imo. I think they should return to an allswede lineup because thats why alliance as a western team stood out. Maybe alliance should have picked up wagamama when they had the chance, it was a perfect fit for many reasons. He is a swede, he is a coreplayer, he is 7k+, he has alot of viewers, he is a caster and an analyst, he talks multiple languages, he is marketable, so he is about everything GGA wants out of a progamer. I think he would be a good addition in many ways after ti5, loda+pajkat+wagamama+akke+?. Maybe the questionmark is EGM or someone less well known. But wagamama isnt less good as the old cores on alliance, i think thats pretty clear now.
Oh well, i think next year alliance will be topnotch again as they used to be.

they will never be top notch again because they were always a one trick pony. best in the world at rat dota, mediocre at everything else. and after all this time bulldog still can't play more than 2 heroes at the highest level but it's not even about that. i used to think bulldog was dependent on his 2 heroes when in fact the whole team was dependent on his 2 heroes. furion alliance is 2 tiers above no furion alliance and they know that. that's why they kicked niqua for bulldog, even though ban phase exists and nobody was gonna give them their hero it actually was the right move and their only shot at ti. pajkatt has been saving their asses now and then but loda and bulldog can't adapt to any other style. they can go through all the supports and mid players in the world but they're the ones that need to leave for alliance to be a top team again because they're the ones that can't adapt.

Don't worry boy, we'll resurrect from our ashes to the TOP one day

Haters gonna hate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tough loss, you guys got cheesed to death by PR. That alchemist, jesus the gold was crazy.

I wonder what will happen after TI, pretty sure Akke will retire, I don't think he has much passion left honestly. It feels like he is playing mostly because its better than pretty much any job there is for a young guy like him.
Loda I'm not sure, it wouldn't surprise me if he retired after TI5 but he once said in an interview he wanted to win two TI's before he retired. Going to be interesting to see the future roster for Alliance.

akke has a way better job than dota 2. since dota 2 it's been his secondary-source of income.

It was impressive of S4 to carry these players to TI3 victory.
|
Weird to see Alliance out of it. Oh well new teams are stepping up to the spotlight.
|
Alliance had a chance if misery was still with them. Switch misery to their solo mid. Its not like misery didn't want considering he decided to play offlane for secret.
They ended up without players able to do shit.
|
The Ban-Nature's-Prophet-against-Alliance-and-get-a-free-win strategy still works. Poor Bulldog.
|
I am really sad and the urge to follow TI has now faded. It is really heartbreaking when stuff like this happens to the team you love and follow.
I cannot understand why they let disruptor get through over and over. Especially when picking Tonyio. =/
I really hope they do not dispand and actually try to correct their errors over a longer period of time.

So sick of this crap. You should promptly read the article posted here ~half a year ago (Alliance ascendant). If you seriously think all they could do was rat dota with NP/Wisp you're deluded. Did you even watch Dota 2 in 2013? And your finishing point about kicking the two people who are weak; why can't they use this downtime to actually adapt? It's not like pajkatt or bulldog lack the raw mechanical skill to have an impact.
