Yes, their picks are slightly unconventional, but by what standard does that make a team bad? You pick heroes to suit the style you want to play. There are very few heroes in this patch (or game overall) that are plain bad/should never be picked. You could turn the entire argument on its head by saying Loda was playing a ton of Slardar in 6.83 and kind of popularized the pick, which now is seen a lot more frequently.
The game with Weaver that you are refering to was quite a bad draft yes; their gameplan of shutting down the UD/Tombstone and pushing backfired and they got pushed by Lesh/BM instead. But if you actually watched the game you'd know that Weaver was pretty much their saving grace that game. Altering the draft slightly and picking Akke's hero 4th and saving the Weaver pick for last could have made a world of difference, rather than picking Weaver 4th and letting Malaysia counterpick with a Beastmaster.
And your note about Pajkatt losing mid as QoP vs Leshrac: Yes, that did happen, but largely due to an unfavorable lvl 1 clash where Malaysia got both bounty runes and forced Pajkatt to spend a lot of regen before the creeps even spawned.
It's so fu**ing easy to say "pff, Team X picked that hero and lost and because they lost that player sucks" etc.
[A] are obviously still struggling to find their style and coordination, but I have faith in that they know what they're doing because when they're on, they're ON. Just needs a bit (or a lot) of refinement. See game 2 vs Malaysia for example. You pick heroes that suit you to win, if you don't win those heroes they don't suit you. There is a reason why certain heroes are picked more than other, its because they are better. Duck- said pretty much everything I wanted to say on the topic. If you follow the trend/meta like a slave you're a tool. If you don't understand what I/we mean then we really have nothing more to discuss.

I just think Loda needs to train more, he's so underwhelming lately, he doesn't play the game enough to improve.

According to Akke, the team thought that they had an ok draft in game 3 lol. And as envy has pointed out, it was such an outdraft.

I normally think highly of Akke, but there's a reason he's the only guy who's never drafted for [A] - remembering the period when EGM, S4, Loda and even Bulldog took turns drafting last year.

Happy birthday Akke, love you <3 my all-time favourite support :D

kicking niqua was such a bad decision
they were quite good at slarladder

Well deserved. Expectations: -bulldog out -team going slump -tried all Scandinavian players in specific order -failed hard and call bulldog -lose again

Kick Niqua for Bulldog, lose qualifiers. Deserved.

I think it's time for loda and akke to leave alliance and let bulldog build a new team.
|
Heh. Always said Alliance has not improved much fundamentally despite several good results. But so many foolishly believed they were back lol.

Niqua was the worst player on Alliance by far and bulldog was a huge improvement. Still not quite good enough, I suppose, but saying Niqua would have improved their results is delusional thinking.

I don't think anyone thinks Niqua was the better player but the way A just casually kicked him right before TI to bring back Bulldog, the player who quit on them when they were down, rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

Bulldog is better player than Niqua, but with the latter, [A] managed to get better result.
It can be the luck factor, but if I have to make logical explanation, it might be because Bulldog disrupts the farm distribution among the cores. Both Pajkatt and Bulldog are farm-oriented core, leaving Loda less resources to farm. It also might explain why Loda performed uncharacteristicly bad during qualifier.

I think that with a player like Chessie instead of Pajkatt, we'd see a nice improvement both in drafting and in play. That said, i hope they won't give up.
