Hope that Crusader passive skill is true, where you can equip a 2 hand weapon together with a shield, so when I get him to 60 I could equip my Stormshield+Skorn

It only works with a Crusader Shield, so no Stormshield.

• Has confirmed Flails, Two-Handed Flails and Two-Handed Swords so far and focuses on Shields, adding their defense as damage. There are Crusader exclusive Shields in the game

Passive:
• Heavenly Strength - Enable the crusader to hold a 2 handed weapon in main hand, but only if you have a Crusader shield in the other, in addition you lose 10% movement speed

Ah thanks, must've overread that part. Well, since the equip will be outdated in 2-3 levels anyways, probably not a large setback though.

Is there anyone here with a lot of experience in D2 and D3 who can say something about the micro intensiveness of fighting compared between the two games? It was one of the main points in D2 that I thought could improve a lot (it was rather limited by killing summoners first etc), and they showed some neat stuff in some of the teasers.

If you are under geared for the content, the game can be pretty micro intensive. I remember beating inferno for the first time as a wizard a few weeks in before they nerfed it and barely surviving/dying a bunch of times.

If you play self-found you can probably re-create that experience.

mainly depends on gear and class. for example, a cloud of bats wd is very positional, but requires no micro at all during fights, just press right click and activate spirit walk in time for frozen and stuff like that.

dhs on the other hand have some very micro-intensive builds.
cm or archon wiz also are kinda faceroll-y, while blizz hydra wiz is very micro intensive.

and so on...

but overall, d3 is an action rpg - dont expect too much of its gameplay. if you really want challenging micro, play some hots or bw.

I just watched the Loot 2.0 video, and I can't complain about anything they presented. It all sounds great, especially those paragon points for customization. I really like where they're going with the "build-changing" abilities on those items.

I certainly like what Blizzard is doing with the aesthetic and themes of the game. I was pretty shocked when D3 didn't have a Paladin class and for the most part I also really disliked the look of the game past act 1. Adding the Crusader and putting him in a more dark gothic setting is what Iwanted all along.

The 'greifz 4 offers' games were a waste of time, 99% of the times.

People would come to either low ball you - hoping you were a noob, come into your game to MF, come into your game to PK you, come into your game to self-xfer, come into your game to perm some mules, come into your game x9 times to offer you a bunch of useless items that they have stored on their mule then continue to R/D themselves.

The only times when game trades worked was when people traded things of common value i.e. 2 puls 4 Um or if they were high-balling because they were impatient, i.e. HR 4 spirit.

D2 trading happened on d2jsp and it was pretty clear that in-game trading was dead due to the trade channels being all but empty bar a few Shop Spam bots.


This is exactly my experience too. Even when someone did actually join to trade, looking through 8 stashes worth of absolute junk was incredibly tedious just for the off chance that the guy might (but almost certainly didn't) have a non-standard item that both of you just happen to value the same.

The only worthwhile ones were "x rune for y item", where the only "bartering" was something like "I know you want Um but would you accept Pul + Lem", at which point it's virtually identical to bartering with currency (gold).

Necro was there in d3c aswell, in act 2, there are some 2 or so mini quests, and he talks about the necro in d2.

I'm not too crazy about the paragon stat system. I feel like they should have brought back stats at leveling, BUT let us re-distribute points at a cost of gold. The game could use more gold sinks and it would let people re-do their characters without starting over from scratch.

Edit: Or maybe it would cost items. Could be a proper item sink.

wouldn't mind seeing runewords back. might comeb ack to the game for it, along with the idea of making the most fun class micro-wise, non garbage efficiency wise.

We should get a AH but resetting Ladder. You can feel free to spend real money, but you spend it with the knowledge that there will be a ladder reset sooner or later.

That should result in people prefering gold trade over RM trade, but doesn't affect those rich people who don't mind spending real money. Gold trade is also going be quite fair as the gold you gain on your ladder character is limited over it's lifetime, thus it will actually reset the economy as a whole.

Not to mention drops etc are worth using/trading for in the AH for gold as everyone has the same stuff and it will help. If blizzard doesn't come out with this system, they really need new blood for their designing team. What flaws is there in the system that i've mentioned above? I personally do not see any. People still get what they want, but with focus on gold etc and the game is non-repetitive as there is ladder resets.

i also don't understand why many think a third party ah would be better than an ingame one. btw, i hope people know ingame trading in d2 was a very, very small percentage of actual trading going on. sigh

Runewords allowed you to make GODLY items by inserting 'runes' into socketed items. Runes were essentially gems, they gave stats by themselves but when you made a runeword out of it you essentially have you a best in slot for your char.

Example of a popular D3 Legendary and D2 Runeword below and why some people thought D3 itemization seemed 'boring' in comparison.

However the chances of finding some of the runes were so slim that they were essentially impossible to make legitimately. You honesty had a better chance of winning the lottery and I'm not even exaggerating.

And to continue the RoS hype train- I am really glad the devs whom tried sooooo hard to strip away D2 features, have realised their mistakes (even tho they would never admit to it) and have finally gone back to make the game more D2 like.
