Van is all over SJ, have to give credit where credit is due, Niemi is playing well to keep it just a 1-0 going into the third. What happened to the Sharks? Its like night and day between Oct and Nov games.

McKinnon I guess with the way the Avs started but thats more of Varlamov being in Vezina nominee form. Hertl is absolutely the clear favorite right now. What people overlook is how good and responsible he is on defense, too.

Its pretty ridiculous how he keeps picking up great young players despite the Sharks being a pretty solid team for like 5-6 years now.

The other big rookies are McKinnin and Seth Jones but Jones is going to be overshadowed by Weber in Nashville and McKinnon is going to fade as the Avs start trending down to the mean. As long as Hertl doesnt go completely cold you can expect him to score a goal over 3 games or so and win this by the Olympic break.

Also, we sent Arcobello our best forward down. What a joke. Somehow the smaller, ineffective, and utterly useless son of the assistant coach Will Acton gets to stay on the team. Complete and utter bullshit.

RNH is a close second. Hall is a huuge asshole. Only time he is seen around town is at the bar, where he just is a prick to everyone. Dont egt me wrong, Hall is a damn good hockey player, but he has the most arrogant and entitled attitude i've ever seen. One time I saw a bartender charge him for his Vodka tonic and he flipped out. "Do you know who I am?" Ridiculous. Eberle is a good guy, unless he is with Hall, in which case he is Hall 2.0. RNH is just really quiet and introverted. Real down to earth. Yakupov is the nicest and most down to earth hockey player I have ever met since George Laraque. He is just happy and excited about everything. He talked to me and my GF for probably a solid 15 minutes just about how much he loved the city and hockey. I even said after about 5 minutes "Hey, you're probably a busy guy, I should let you go." and he just like laughed and said its no problem and he loves the fans. It was weird, he almost seemed disappointing when our conversation was done. Yaks the kind of guy that waits for every single kid to get an autograph before he leaves anywhere he goes. It honestly blows my mind the kind of character assassination that is going on in the media with this kid. Its mind bottling. My favourite Oiler to meet at a bar was Penner, he was super nice both times I met him, and he remembered me, by name, from the first time even though it was a full year previous. Tom Gilbert was an asshole.

That and Versteeg today and Versteeg of three years ago are different players. Not that Versteeg is bad now, he just is quite mediocre.

Not like it'd make a difference either way. Its not like even if we lost we could blame it on only having 6 D. We just pretty much suck.
