The Oilers are embarrassing. No pride at all.
Several players on the other team call us out before the game, say we have no system play, turn the puck over easily. We procede to prove them right with Pizza's all over the place.
Fuck off. Eakins better grill the shit out of them. You'd think a professions response to being called a junior team would be to go out and prove them wrong.
Nope, exact opposite. Oilers logic.

Frankly, the Oilers strike me as a team that needs better coaching. They are bad at the fundamentals.

But hwo do you blame the coach?
We've had 5 different coaches over the last six years, sucked at fundamentals whole damn time.

They need someone who will forcibly install fundamentals and a GM who will remove players that can't play the system. There are some games where it looks like their is structure to the EDM game. This aint one of them but they have happened.
Watching the Oilers try and get a puck out of there own zone is painful, sometimes looks like our blue line is the great wall of china.
Listening to Gene say that Ryan Smyth is important to our offence really highlights the flaws in our team. if Smyth is important to your team then your team has huge issues
So happy we kept Hemsky. Seems like he is the only Oiler that wants to give it 100% every night. Too bad he cannt be cloned 11 times

Jesus Oil fans and outsiders alike need to stop blaming coaches, it is fucking embarrassing and takes way too much of the onus off of the players, it is not the coaching, how about we give a coach more then a year to actually implement a system.

Exactly.
Even if Eakins sucks, I;'d be pissed if he was here any less than four years. Need siome player accountability.
And for the record, I like Eakins.

I agree with this. Noone of our last coaches had a shot. Hopefully Eakins gets one and Eakins has shown that he will sit a star thats playing bad so thats a good sign i think

Karma.

I've only seen one person make that comment in this thread. Not sure about elsewhere. I definitely don't see it on the NHL website. I think everyone would agree on the player accountability and no one said it would be a walk in the park as soon as Dallas came on the job.

Well i guess that's how you score 4 unanswered goals, didn't think the Oil had it in em

Mark Arcobello is tied with Crosby, Sedin, and Thornton with 10 assists for the league lead.
Pretty good...
|
I'm not sure what Oilers do in a few weeks when Gagner comes back, Arcobello has been really good and a lot better in the face off dot then Gagner.

Good problem to have, shrug.
EDIT: Not going to lie, I really liked Belov throwing Gallagher to the ice after the whistle. If that scrawny little bugger played in the west he would get oblierated with the mouth he has on him.

Rofl i thought i was having deju vu reading this HF board thread right now then i checked the user name and came back to this thread.

"We thank Lars Eller for his comments before the game. He may as well have sent me a fruit basket and a bottle of wine.It was a great gift. Certainly makes my job easier." - Dallas Eakins
lolol.

Probably play him on the wing until Hall comes back? He'd do fine there.
edit: And in defense of Lars Eller - he was pretty much correct in everything he said, whether or not a player should say those things notwithstanding.

Kessel <3
JVR was so good too, gonna be scary seeing the Americans in Sochi.

If only they were bringing Carle. ((

The habs will regret playing like soulless hobos in the 2nd-3rd period last night when the spring comes.
I like it.
Im from the East Coast so I dont watch the Oilers very often. It seems like they get almost all their chances on the rush and score all their goals that way. Are they any good in the other areas of the game?
And OMFG Dubnyk looks bad. Every shot seems to be an adventure and or a juicy rebound...

They're the team to beat. As in team USA.
