I'll believe it when I see it.
You can download the client and try it out yourself. It's pretty simple.
The icon is a placeholder I imagine, but the button itself is fully functional.

I know masters league players who dont hotkey anything and have units lost all over the map. This kind of change is bad for the game imo, but it won't affect pro play.

Anytime units pop, you select your whole army and add to to a control group. Without this, you have to switch screens to add the new units. seriously, this means nothing. It wont actually impact any one above bronze.
Everyone is gonna use it. It means you no longer have to look at ur rally. Well as zerg u could just select the eggs to make it easy anyway but this is even easier.

I'm not necc. calling you a liar, but the way the image is presented just screams "fake"
Again, I'll believe it when I see it or someone does an actual screenshot of it without cutting it up.

good, that means that the better players will stand out more

I'm all for making the user interface as easy and simple to use as possible but giving the players extremely simple controls is NOT good for competitive play. Do you REALLY think this is going to make a difference in competitive play? Top tier players already have distinct control groups for different types of units, they're not just gonna start "1+A"ing just because a new button has been introduced to the UI.
People are being really ridiculous about a lot of these new gameplay changes. They help the lower leagues out as they focus on other aspects of the game. It won't make a difference to the people at the top.

Welp, more dumbing down/casualization, just in case I needed any more reasons not to buy hots or support blizzard in any way.
They are definitely not the same company, I never heard all of this "our more casual players need baby sitting day in and day out" talk before the activision merger.

So I have two accounts.
When I logged into one of them, it links me directly to download HotS beta client. The other one just goes to good old battle.net account details.
I'm now pretty certain that if/when you log in, and get redirected to download client, it means you will be receiving a beta key shortly!

sry didnt read through the thread, has blizzard sent out any beta keys yet?

The changes don't affect high level/pro play in the slightest. How in the world is it a bad thing to help ease new players into the game? Any change that doesn't affect high level play but helps newbies is good for the long-term health of SC2.

So I guess you also want auto worker produce and that sort of thing to be in the game.

Nobody has posted any screen shots of them saying they got beta keys. But since you're ROOTT1 you'll probably be the first to know.

An FYI, command and conquer has "global select" all units, this is a command and conquer feature meant for "noobs." I doubt pros will use it very often, but still...it's going the wrong direction imo. We will see. Just because the feature exists, doesn't mean it will encourage the skill ceiling to be lowered.

Here you go. It's in spoiler, the reason I cut up the first image was so people could see detail without having to open in a new tab.

"It does not affect you! Stop being so entitled".
Yeah, see how well that worked out for a lot of other games. No sir, I won't support them anymore, you are free to do as you please, of course.

No, it means they WANT people to make attack-move deathballs. In other words, they encourage and design units around this type of play. If it were not so, Blizzard ends up in the same conundrum. Imagine a casual bronze dude get punished because he made a deathball, "WAAAAAAAAAAH, this game is too hard, I go back to LoL!!!".
The continual dumbing down of the game means Blizzard will do everything to make the game deathball friendly.
