I don't get this change at all. Don't oracles already have preordain? And why not just make the unit a detector instead of giving scan?

Why in the hell would you give Protoss a scan ability? That's a trademark TERRAN spell, would be the same as giving an cloaked observer to T.

Maybe it's not global, then I'll allow it.

Because if not, the massive range of the tempest would be useless as protoss wont have any vision of the enemys army.

What is observer?

I believe his point is that the observer comes from a different tech patch than the tempest and it'd be not really useful without it. So instead of a high-tech unit requiring another tech path to become useful, this change would allow a unit from the same tech path to fill in. Makes somewhat sense, but still feels awkward. Scan is as Terran-y as it gets.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure that by the time you get some tempests out, you'll at least have a robo. I don't imagine we're going to see much 2 base tempest all ins.

It doesn't seem like it will work the same way Terran scan does: Protoss will still need to gain regular vision via other means. Note that Preordain doesn't reveal cloaked units anymore

Terran Scan with Blink Stalkers or with 22 range Tempest... mmmh that would be tasty :D

And by that time zerg has overseers and can easily snipe observers left and right

Oh my bad, 10% nerf, I was thinking 3.3 is greater than 3 and forgot that the lower the attack speed the faster it is.

You haven't even seen it in action, in it's current state, yet. If it's as bad as you claim, I'm sure it'll be removed or changed during beta.

Thanks for the patch notes XenoX101!

I'm just realizing it now watching the video and screenshots but the tempest is incredibly ugly. That and the warhound is still as ugly as before.

Too close in terms of time or too close as in terms of accuracy?

Edit: Actually, I think its more the fact about there being no point to having the beta if it's in the arcade.
