Since this whole topic degenerated into the usual balance flamefest where every topic ends up if unmoderated it's time for it to clean up. Locking this down for a while. Any posts made after my post [page 233] not addressing the changes in this patch directly and containting flames or general balance whine will get banned for at least a week. ~Nyovne

If I were to guess some reasons for the neural nerf, I'd guess they wanted a role for BC, Carrier, Mothership. Pretty heavy nerf for a skill that isn't too powerful (fungal nerf was needed). Remember, that this skill could be cast underground in the Alpha.

What? Show me one game where that happens. I assume the High Templars are A moving and the Colossus are on move command? Because both of those units can easily stop NP from having any lasting effect at all.

Storm, Feedback, a single volley from colo........ all wipe out infestors. Especially when we're talking about pure roach/infestor.

NP and colossus have the same range (same with feedback, and storm is close), and all it takes is 1 volley to wipe out all of the Z's gas investment.


I am pretty sure collosus doesn't deal 90 damage... and even if it did, you would have to targetfire infestors instead of zerglings or raches. AI won't do it for you.

Also, zerg whining players, you must reralise that Blizzard doesn't nerf units only by looking on match statistics and replays. It is just not how you should play sc2. Terran or Protoss invests a lot of time and money into their end game units, and all zerg has to do is to use 100m 150g worth of unit to take over everything.

learn to use feedback , its easy , when i play good toss in late game ( mid masters in EU ) 3/4 of my infestors are already dead , before i can NP something . I only can use like 2-3 NP in big fight if toss play good , and then its not a problem forhim to focus down 2-3 infestors whit blink stalkers to finish NP ..
You just need more multitasking whit your army , not only A move forward..

This Infestor’s Neural Parasite can no longer target Massive units. (new) is

1. Retarded
a. 2 base Thor only allins for the win.
b. Why should the Protoss have incentive to make HTs and micro? From my experience, if the toss is good with HTs control, the zerg shit his pants when the feedbacks hit; but whatever. It's good to nerf things we don't have much experience in playing with. EDIT. Maybe increase the energy cost of NP so not all the Infestors get so fast to enough energy to NP.

2. Destiny back to mid master where he belongs.

I think fungal nerf is ok. Also, maybe nerf Infested Terran.

PS. I am a very light Infestor user.

While Neural Parasite affects massive units, ZvP is in a very strange spot.

In that matchup, Zerg currently is the race who can most effectively counter because the speed of its units, it is the race which can remax the quickest because of its macro mechanics, AND it is the race with the most powerful late game unit composition.

Even if we don't see this change go through, I believe there will be another made to ensure that when a maxed P army and a maxed Z army clash, the P army will win almost every time.

Infestors can still NP vikings, siege tanks, immortals, HT and void rays which are all pretty big imo

No one used NP before the nerf, so why even bother nerfing it?

I don't get why Blizzard keeps patching balance issues, when what they need to do is to adress the spectator issue. They must make Protoss interesting to spectate. Now I can't watch any PvT or PvZ just because how un-esport it feels watching the design of P.

For a start, I have one idea:

Make it so that feedback can be used on every unit, not just the ones that have mana. If you feedback a non-mana unit, nothing happens but the feedback energy of 50 is wasted anyways.

Why this change? This will not adress balance, but make Protoss a tad more interesting to spectate, since it will separate the real skilled P players from the rest. Now you can not shift-click the minimap 10 times to do miracle feedbacks on all enemy energy units, but you need actual skill to pull it off, and that will enhance the spectator experience. Now, I just can't sit in awe watching "pro" Protoss players pull of "insane" micro, just because there is none. Changes like these and other small non balance changes will give us spectators so thrills even when watching Protoss games.

"It is really good to get the double observatory if you want to get the speed and sight range for the observer simultaneously. It's a little bit of an advanced tactic, and by advanced, I mean really fucking bad."

i dont see the problem with going back to roach hydra corruptor ... not like protoss had 100% win rate vs that.even better when the voidray got nerfed so no zerg should whine...NP was too ridicilous anyway
