Patch 1.4 PTR Notes (updated 9/8) - Page 305
Forum Index > Closed |
Since this whole topic degenerated into the usual balance flamefest where every topic ends up if unmoderated it's time for it to clean up. Locking this down for a while. Any posts made after my post [page 233] not addressing the changes in this patch directly and containting flames or general balance whine will get banned for at least a week. ~Nyovne There is way too much flaming in this thread right now. Calm down before you post! (Page 271) ~iamke55

On the other hand, TERRAN itself REALLY needs a giant nerf into crazy oblivion. With crazy amounts of EZ marines they can rape early game so hard for protoss and yet their MULEs make them pretty crazy ... =/

Holy shit i cant even believe it why does Blizzard nerf such a fundamental spell, ZvP is unwinnable now, unless Corrupters get a GIANT buff. Otherwise i will play Toss, fuck the ultralisk buff, that infestor shit is simply a joke. Colossus balls are as OP as never before. Maybe it was getting a little ridiculous that zerg only had to make buffed up roaches and infestors to beat a deathball of colossus, stalkers, zealots, and high temps?

ZvP was broken, so Blizz decides to make it even MORE broken what the FUCK? What are we supposed to NP now? "Oh you zerg players can only whine you can still fungal immortals" yeah you now how many toss players are going to build immortals now in zvp? the answer is ZERO because the fucking deathball is unstoppable now, it was hard to deal with it PRE-patch. And dont tell me broodlords or the buffed ultralisks are supposed to counter the ball, the Colossus timing attack hits WAY before you are at T3 and simply roflstomps you. This has to be a joke, otherwise blizzard has no CLUE what balance means. I haven't seen a deathball win a match PvZ in month at korean-pro level.

Pre patch no one was using infestaor because fungal was "useless & you can't NP colossi because of range" After patch everyone starting to go full infester fungal like crazy & discover they actually NP colossi. Now Toss can do shit with colossi each time you make one, chance of being NP are 80 %.

Personally i think this change is really reasonable, it was more than needed, infestors were ( and currently are ) op

They're just to flexible and powerful to not have in your army, thus making any hydra or corrupters needless.

NP can still be used on tanks, and the traditional mech opener (BFH harass) was nerfed quite a bit, so I think it could balance itself out. Even if it ends up being a buff overall, I personally wouldn't mind mech becoming a viable option to the old marine/tank.

What I really think should happen is that air units can no longer be neural parasited (or if even that is too much, massive air units cannot be neuraled). This change I would REALLY want because "seriously, how can an infestor's tentacle reach infinite distance in the sky". On the other hand, TERRAN itself REALLY needs a giant nerf into crazy oblivion. With crazy amounts of EZ marines they can rape early game so hard for protoss and yet their MULEs make them pretty crazy ... =/ honestly, if its massive air units you're worried about, i think the mothership could use something similar to the ultra that makes it immune to neural. i wouldnt worry too much about carriers being neuraled because the range of the remaining carriers means if we have one or two less infestors, our neural'ing infestors will go down to the interceptors.. IF you target them..

What? Show me one game where that happens. I assume the High Templars are A moving and the Colossus are on move command? Because both of those units can easily stop NP from having any lasting effect at all. Storm, Feedback, a single volley from colo........ all wipe out infestors. Especially when we're talking about pure roach/infestor. NP and colossus have the same range (same with feedback, and storm is close), and all it takes is 1 volley to wipe out all of the Z's gas investment.

There are some hard 2 base pushes at around 15 minutes with thor/hellions and some scvs to repair, the normal answer to this would be roach/infestor with np which isn't possible anymore. Ofc in lategame bls are an option.
