Since this whole topic degenerated into the usual balance flamefest where every topic ends up if unmoderated it's time for it to clean up. Locking this down for a while. Thats exactly what I thought. Blizz thinks zerg has too many options. Its too complicated for us. So they make everything useless except roaches and flying roaches. Im so glad I play zerg.
On a serious note though: when you have your tips "on" during load time the tip for Neural Parasite says "use it against powerful enemy units like siegetanks or Colossi......

But then again Zerg is not supposed to be cost effective. The infestor was the only exception but i guess its gone now. Turned from a good patch to a disaster.

RIGHT HERE is the problem. You're relying on your ONE unit to win you the entire game. That's what the infestor does and that's why it's being nerfed.

Neural seemed pretty fair to me. E+click on a unit to mind control it, to cancel it the enemy has to right click the infestor, is that so hard? It's not like it had ridiculous range or uncanny health for a spellcaster or the ability too go invisible *cough*ghosts*cough*

Robots use electrical signals. So does nerves. Plus, there's another being inside the Collosus controlling it, much like the Immortal.

O_o Fungal + Carpet bombing is still insanely good vs the protoss ball.

Do you think you might be exaggerating just a bit? Fungal Growth and Infested Terrans are still god-tier spells, Neural Parasite will just have a more niche role.

As a terran i dont understand the neural change either. Neural was never a problem, and it was almost exclusively used on massive units (immortals and siege tanks too, but not that much), so you might as well remove it now, fungal is almost always better.
I guess it's one of those changes where they'll just revert it back in a week, for whatever reason.

Interesting development, personally i never saw a problem with np ( i play terran) however i think this is more aimed at the highest level of play were the protoss deathball could be stopped quite easy if there were enough infestors on the field.
All the protoss wine seems to have made blizz take action and considering terran dont get hurt from this change i cant complain

... and btw, how do you kill mass collossus/stalker armees no. corruptors are just a stupid couter, since they are a onesided, and really bad unit overall i think. it didnt work out befor, why would it work out now? : (

when is the ghost nerf comming, HT got nerfed to hell that people are getting then for the archon not the HT, now infestors are getting nerfed.

The infestor change is pretty huge in ZvP, but it might make the mass thor style a little more viable in TvZ. I like it.
Also, isn't it more standard to use fungal + baneling drops to kill colossi instead of relying solely on neural parasite?

After just losing badly because the Zerg dude np 6 colossus and fungal'ed my stalkers so broods could make their little party I really think this wont broke anything... Besides, just removing KA wasnt the right thing to do with Templars either (that just made TvP insanely hard right now). And this Infestor nerf isnt anywhere close to the templar nerf. I just hope ghosts are the next in the line =)

They should just give mothership an immunity to neural if that is the problem, but this is ridiculous. Nobody is going to even research Neural now. Their use will be almost niche now.

If they had problem with that spell, why not chaning its range or cost? But to make it unable to use on colossus, i dont get it. Fungal is lot more deadly than the mind control

I used Infestors mainly for it's NP to stop Colossus/Thors. Sad panda.

NP is an ability to snipe out strong units Now said units can't be NPed anymore, so NP got useless or do you want to NP zealots ??
Here is an explanation: The colossus/voidray deathball was almost unbeatable, now that NP doesn't work anymore and fungal got nerfed, this deathball have its revival. Protoss will learn to just turtle and move out with the deathball because they are not dependant on pressuring anymore; every deathball with 5-6 colossus and maybe even archons or voidrays in addition will be too strong
Sure zergs can beat protoss players without NP now, but protoss can easily change their unit compositions now
