I support their decision really, and I like the fact that even blizzard employees will use their real ID. So I Voted Yes, If I have to bring something up to Blizzard on their official forum, I will gladly do it using my Real ID. I Am pretty confident it's gonna help a lot the Forums.

for most people, a first and last name isn't enough to give your identity out. but a lot of people do not want their emails susceptible to spam/harassment etc

I hope you all enjoy getting your taste of what it's like to live in Korea. God knows you've been praying for it.

The b.net forums are 99% trolls/spammers and 1% people that have serious suggestions and questions. Don't post there if you don't like the new "rules"... I'd bet that the majority of the TL members don't use those forums because of their current state. It's just my opinion, but blizzards b.net forums should be for technical advice, serious feedback, maybe some guides or links to community sites and not for "Yo Mommaship" and the 100th omfglol Marauders are f**** imba thread.

I think it's hilarious to see how many people are posting here about how awful it's going to be and how they're worried about potential employer's could see what they're up to. Take some accountability for the things you're doing. If you're really doing something you're so ashamed and frightened of people finding out about that you don't feel comfortable putting your "real" name to it, should you really be doing it? Man up and take some pride in the things you do or re-evaluate your life... Problem is, you can't take responsibility for other people's actions. What if your potential employer thinks video games are a waste of time and the sign of an idle lifestyle? Then they go and do a search for your name online and see you've made 200+ posts on two video game forums SC2/WoW/Diablo/whatever and think "Oh, this is not the employee for me - I'm going to stick with this other applicant." Or what if some belligerent person holds a grudge over something you've said, having totally misinterpreted your intent, and decides to track you down. Seems like a stretch, but it's happened... this makes it easier. I understand what you're saying about accountability, and yes, some forums are a nightmare due to a lack of it; but this change to b.net does not seem like the best solution - especially given the fact that we've been warned since the inception of public internet: "Do not give out personal information." Now everyone with a B.net account already in their name doesn't have a choice (unless there's an option to go back and change it that I don't know about.)

May I suggest we all make a fake ID with the "real name" of Robert Kotick?
