yes when they are at home they are rather safe from scourges, given that the mnm army is not being reinforced so the only anti air that is left are the remaining mnm forces on the map + the turrets at home. zerg also has literally no means of scouting the terran natural at that point, so he will not know the amount of vessels terran will have (similar to terran hiding + making more valks when they make a mech switch). = they want zerg to go mutas which can be easily irradiated. zerg also often use leftover mutas for guards when they see a mech switch coming, if terran does hide his vessels the zerg will proceed to make guards.

Depending on the map I get a 4th scv to mine drill through my natural mineral assuming I have vision to glitch out the zerglings.

Could somebody elaborate on the mine drill trick? I think I have seen this but never knew what was happening. When the enemy is trying to run up a ramp and the player being attacked sends a lot of SCVs down the ramp to harvest from those minerals. Maybe I am thinking of something else.

When the enemy is trying to run up a ramp and the player being attacked sends a lot of SCVs down the ramp to harvest from those minerals. Maybe I am thinking of something else. Early on during the creation of Starcraft, the developers had problems with the pathfinding of workers while mining, since they bumped into each other messing up the mining, so they made it so while workers move towards a mineral patch or gas geyser to gather it, they would be able to move through other units, and stack together. If they start doing something else, the stacked workers will spread out pushing things out of the way and sometimes glitching them up. Mine drilling basically means that you send your worker to pass through other units by clicking on a mineral patch beyond that unit, and spam stop when its right under that unit pushing it out of the way and glitching it up. It was infamously used in game 2 of the July vs Best OSL.

get two scvs and place them at the ramp, make them hold position. float your rax above the scvs. make sure they are covered. when the lings come, the marine will attack the but the ling AI will not attack the scvs. the enemy have to target the scvs manually but cannot since its covered with the rax. even when he attack moves the lings will find a way to attack the shooting marine and not the scvs. this can also be done to zealots ![]()
