Can't help, but I really had to laugh reading this. Reminds me of some 2v2 games I did analyze in a replay with my ally. Sometimes an opponent looks like a real monster by supply and we go wtf, this guy is not stronger then our 80 supply armies, how come he had 130 supply. Then his minerals run out and we see 90+probes cluttering on his natural: aaahhhhh there they are, his hidden units ^^
You go to war with the Army you have, not the Army you might want or wish to have at a later time.

i remember a game of him on valhalla i think (it was some island map) in which he had about 40 scv standing @ one exp
not really useful but it looked cool tho :D

only matchup i completely understand exactly when to pump probe and exactly when to stop is pvt ... pvp seems like a guessing game to me i always seem to be a little short or a little too much since better P's always beat me with macro : /

for pvt and pvz just think of it like this ... when you are building units, you shouldnt be building probes. you need units for attacking, and once you get 6-10 gates you wont need more probe for quite a while ... you shouldnt be pumping probes if you are behind in a game no matter what .. unless you got vulture raided and lost a lot at 1 expo, in that case you probably already lost .. but you shouldnt expo just power the gate syou have and try to rebuild probe until he attacks then out micro him and you can get back in the game ... the main thing to remember in pvt is .... when he is pushing, YOU SHOULD NOT BE PROBING.. after you kill his push and start another exp u should start probing again, but when under pressure never probe, ALWAYS UNIT.

pvp i honestly dont know when to stop, i just try to go by feel, but think of it this way ... if you have more exps than him, just play defensive and build probes til you have a lot of gates, like 8-10 .. if you are exping faster, you will have more units later in the game, so you want to wait it out ... cuz the more probes you have, the faster you will be able to pump. but if you only have 1 expo i wouldnt recommend more than 35 because a p that builds less and like 7 gates will almost always have more units than a p that builds more and has to waste that extra money on probes rather than building gateways and units faster.

haha i lost a game in wcg 2001 on valhalla tvp cuz i had like 2000 minerals when he got carriers, 4 or 5 bases, but i had too many peons and no supply for goliaths or wraiths ioi

I saw yesterday a nice and loong rep Terran vs Protoss (mmm it was Hellghost vs I dunno), and when both of them reached the 200/200 supply limit, they sent +20 workers to the opponent base to sacrify , so they did some more army ... gosu players !

I stop producing workers too early... I feel unsafe and I prefer biuld some more marines or tanks ... I loose 90% of the games xDD (pushing with my 60 apms LMAOOOOOOO)
Taking the time to have simple fun everyday is a must for a happy life.

in pvz i generally stop probes right when i start to make gateways after my first expansion .. i have a big problem pvz late game with probes though as my strategy is to usually try to win before the 20 minute mark because most z players are too fast and too strong macro wise to beat at that point.

its more of a strategy against zerg than just probe stopping .. once my expo is up i make enough so that i can support my gates, then i completely stop probes .. probably at 35-40 i really couldnt tell but i would bet that its no more than 3 plus or minus a number like 35 or so every game .. its just second nature to my build now, but just like pvt dont let the zerg take other main and natural expansion ... do your best to keep them confined to natural and 2nd natural then you dont have to worry that much about probes later into the game ... besides, if you get in trouble and you have 3 nexus ... you can just go to each real quick, PPPPP and rally all to 1 place then you got 15 probes in like 2 minutes ... make sure u build canons though or he will own u with force, you know?

I stop probes when i'm contained PvZ. And I make probes when he is going for sunken/lurk/island. Many expand cannon and then gates or carriers.
