Stop being jerks to each other please. Stop talking about seperate TL sites, BW vs SC2, or which fan base is retarded/ignorant/elitist/old/constipated.

Don't post in the thread unless you take the time to read the situation.

Don't post in the thread to let others know that they should have been banned longer.

Don't post in the thread to claim that kespa is the evil empire based on you reading the translated musing of a random Chinese blogger.

Honestly people, this is common sense. I hate the fact that I have to moderate to the lowest common denominator. Make my job easier please.

Kespa will mix the players of the 3 disbanding teams to form 2 balanced teams. Why people are freaking out?

I really doubt that Kespa will manage the coaching process. Kespa will manage administrative stuff, not what goes on at the practice houses or who plays in wich map.

If it's management, could it be something like board management in a corporation, or maybe even management of a subsidiary? What this equates to generally is fiscal control. The day to day affairs are in the hands of the officers (the coaching staff) but any major corporate decision will have to be made by the board. This involves many things I would think - selling/buying players, hiring/firing coaches, leasing room for a practice house and renting a dormitory for the players, buying a team bus, etc (mostly involving acts of ownership). If so, I'm not sure how this might be fair, be it the management of 2 teams or of all teams. As someone pointed out, KeSPA is composed of representatives from all the teams, but the power within has been in the hands of CJ/SKT representatives. It feels too much like conflict of interest to me, honestly.

Ultimately, if it keeps BW up and running I'm fine with it though.

Well, obviously Kespa can't intervene in who gets sent to proleague and stuff. But until the management part gets some clarification on what it actually means, then all will pretty much be speculation.

How many teams are going to be formed from those "5-6 companies willing"?

Kespa says it will try to maintain 8 teams for these year proleague format and 5-6 companies are interested in investing in to the scene but we are not told out of these interested sponsors how many more teams will be formed . I think we have just to wait and see what's going to happen.

That paragraph was added by the plu translator. It doesn't appear in the Korean interview.

slight error in OP's management paragraph.

The new team's management style will be different, it will have multiple sponsors instead of 1 like other teams. Kespa (temp?)manages. This way Kespa will have the power to select players, (then something about balance). This also prevents teams disbanding when 1 sponsor leaves. Actually this style of management was rumored for a while now in forums, it's likely that Kespa release this news by themselves to test reaction.

(T/N: This paragraph was written by the translator to explain to people how the new team work. He never explain his source)

Yep, thanks, but even if it's an unsubstantiated rumor right now, it's actually a logical move to prevent the fearmongering in respect of match-fixing issues and corporate downsizing. I just have a problem with the structural aspect, since if KeSPA does change into a management body of a few teams, it could interfere in what is presumably a market/player/coach-driven aspect (such as roster changes).

Being involved in roster changes is only to the level of American sports though.. blocking teams from becoming overpowered is probably a good idea.

This is wonderful news. I'm glad that the situation is starting to stabilize with the Brood War scene. One question I have, though, is will they still hold the playoffs in the same fashion with the top-6 teams thing? With (supposedly) 8 teams, it would be kinda generous to let the top 6 advance, imo.
I'll just trust in Kespa's decision making.

probably just revert back to the old format of 3v4, winner vs 2, winner vs 1.
