The game itself is a top notch RTS, and I think anyone who claims its not is just letting their anger at some of the other short comings get the better of them.

Teamliquid.net, the Korean Progaming Website! hmmmm... now why would people be upset that the proscene will no longer be there? P.S. Game is boring as hell. and battle.net 2 is epic fail. No proscene, no gameplay, no social aspect. Why buy?

Yes in BW (and possibly sc2) korea might have the best players but korean e-sports has been very boring to watch for me after 3-4years. I find the games to be far more exciting when players make mistakes then find a creative way to recover, instead of moving with mechanical limbs. Edit: That being said, would BW have survived over all this time without the korean scene? Probably not. The korean scene is obviously influential but in my opinion it is stagnant. Time to move on to more exciting things =).

On May 27 2010 22:32 enzym wrote: which is silly. people are overvaluing the korean esports scene. Dude you're not making any sense, I don't think a lot of people would stand on your side opposing the fact that korean esport has promoted, spread and kept starcraft alive to a large extent over the past years. What the hell do you think these sites (gg.net, tl.net) are meant to be in the first place? You're talking as if we'd have this cool community even if starcraft didn't catch on in korea the way it did. In reality these sites were originally meant to be portals into the world of korean esports. If starcraft wasn't unique in the fact that it's been the subject of a large emerging E-sports industry it would have been much less intriguing to a lot of us, and chances are people would have lost interest long ago as has happened in the case of many other excellent games (wc2 comes to mind). Are you new to the scene or something? I don't understand any of what you're saying. Blizzard are opposed to private servers such as iccup. Game-i was shut down, and trust me when I say that blizzard will do everything in their power to oppose any attempts at creating private servers in sc2, no matter how large the disappointment over the official laddering system is among their fans. Why do you think me and others are refraining from buying the sequel to the game that has been a great source of entertainment and joy for a large part of our lives? Could it maybe have something to do with blizzards decision making? And even if this doesn't affect you directly, maybe you should stop and think of the implications of what blizzard is doing atm? What's the next step? On May 27 2010 22:19 Grend wrote: The "OMG Blizzard is looking for a profit" argument is silly. It`s a freaking Giant Corporation, not your personal fluffy bunny of friendship. Yeah man, blizzard saw that StarCraft BroodWar will be a hit over at Korea and they let them have fun at it first by not taxing them with the tournaments and the starleagues and all. Fuck when a Blizzard representative visited Korea and saw Boxer play and how he sneaked out his scouting scv by building a supply depo behind the mineral line and then canceling to make the scv slip past the mineral line, the Blizzard rep had that coming but of course he had to say it fucking blew his socks off just to avoid getting lynch mobbed by the fans of the Emperor. Now they're gonna make Korea pay for broadcasted SC2 games. Blizzard so had professional StarCraft coming. I guess Korean eSports will only start to have value if Kepsa agrees with Blizzard on the IP. Korean eSports is soooo overrated.

Youre adressing something else than what I was thinking about when I made that post though. I was thinking more of how Bnet.2.0 is set up. I honestly doubt whether this GOM-TV thing will "alienate" "big chunks" of the dedicated fanbase as you claim though. Only time will tell, -Any change has to be negative
