I'm not going to lie: I think you're immature cheapskates if you're saying that you won't buy the full game based on the beta. There is actually a cracked client that's been available almost since the first week of beta that lets you play Ai or watch replays. And at the very least, the Campaign can be cracked. What's wrong with basing judgment on the game in it's beta? Beta is not too far from release, especially in this time frame considering Sc2 is released in two months. Not paying for the game to show anguish is not too far from things people do in real life, like labour strikes or boycotting. The people aren't saying they're not gonna pay for Sc2 because they want to save money but because they don't want to support Blizzard. Any talk of pirating disgusts me TBH. Whatever justification people come up with it, it always comes down to the same thing: you're just being cheap. And you just revealed your trap card, Bias. User was banned for this post.

But you are right, we shouldn't pirate that game. Why ? Because it is a mediocre at best. Btw Blizzard is so delusional that they are trying to kill broodwar now. ROFL you're using the 3x$59 argument. I think SC1 is a huge ripoff guys, it's 2x$50!!! They're making you pay for 2 games!!! Facebook integration is really useful, actually. I was able to play a few games with a friend who graduated from college because he found me via facebook. B.net is a work in progress. Blizzard has always said this. They're planning to add chat channels after release, and they'll probably fix other issues as well. It remains to be seen whether the campaign will be cracked. Maybe Blizz will make you log on to play it (although the backlash from that would be so enormous, dear god) I am not going to judge the game on the beta because the catastrophic problems with b.net will not ship with the game. If Blizzard can not fix things like massive lag in 3v3 and 4v4, they will not ship the game on July 27th. If there is enough backlash from not being able to add friends in traditional fashion, Blizzard will change that, too. One month is plenty of time, and ever since the latest patch dropped an atomic bomb on the servers, I've suspected that the game will be delayed anyway.

On the other hand one can watch freakin everything on youtube and read on the forums. I guess there is going to be like a million streams showing the singleplayer. If esports for sc2 gets so much fun to watch like its predecessor, then theres no need to buy it anyways. I guess it is a normal step for Blizzard to license its products progame use, even though I would have preferred to keep it free. Blizzard is no longer a "hero", but part of a huge company that sells its product. It's just like in soccer, its no about having the best games possibles and freedom of use, but having good games, controlling the marked and earning even more money. If I had the money to easily buy the game, I guess that I would go ahead and buy it. But I can't easily afford it, so those reasons might keep me from buying it. btw, Reading this thread is like reading the thread about the korean starcraft talk about the game rigging. People are dissapointed in both threads (in the riggers there and in Blizzard here). However, it is somehow manageable to deal with some (potentially more) riggers, but how to deal with the main boss? Our power is pretty limited, yet again it's just a game. gg

I have lost all faith in blizzard. Come to think of it, I haven't even enjoyed any of their titles since diablo 1/2, starcraft, and wc 1 and 2 and that was about 10 years ago. I have basically went from loving blizzard and their games above all others to the point where I'm considering not even buying sc2. Which imo isn't even that great of a game, just another modern rts except it has a huge established crowd dead set on turning a mediocre game into an e-sport.[/QUOTE] ditto ditto ditto., Exactly my toughts everyone is so hype about SC2 just because SC1 was good and they say to themselves and try to make it look better than it is. But actually its not that good. Will SC2 become an E-sport? for sure, if the community keeps playing it will become a void E-sport. To be honest it was the players themselves that build the SC1 starcraft comunity, BUT they did with a strong base, which was a GOOD game. Im afraid that if you try to make SC2 an E-sport, you will fail and the comunity will shatter, more than its now. (People hating SC2 and people who loves SC2). Sorry for the Off-topic Anyways, Blizzard has seen the future of E-sports and now it wants to have total control over it. Its ridicolous how they have changed over the years and thats the reason why the games generation. In simple put, they are more focus on getting money now, while before they really loved to make games. That means that now they do anything to attract new customers/players rather than keep the ones they already have. thats why newer games and patches are so shitty... they are trying to lure new (that will most likely be bad at playing) by offering them easy playable games that they can feel really pros. Thats why WoW started to suck after burning crusade, thats why Warcraft3 didnt had that much success. Actually the only difference I can feel between W3 and SC2 its that W3 didnt had the fan base support as SC2 is having and actually. In fact to my eyes W3 is much better than SC2 and in W3 at least there is micro required to do great plays like surrounding heros and timing items spells to get the most of them, in SC2 all I see even from gamers like nony and others is BO's and Macro, which are not suppoused to be the base of any RTS game, it just leads me to think that people want to play this game BGH style. The one who has more resources and more army (given that any monkey with average knowledge of the game could know how to make his army composition) wins. theres no much more micro than 1a2a ( cuz 2 groups are fine for the majority of the game. Anyways, to sum up, Blizzard has turned into a cashmachine that only cares about bringing more new players (+noobs=+games bought), and controling everything they can. Ofc Blizzard has the rights to its games, but thats only legaly, moraly it has definetly no right to claim anything from starcraft as an E-sport, because during the first 7 years of it, they did not believe in the game, and did not help it to grow in any way as an E-sport.

I love how you are only picking one point and don't even try to understand how it is related to the others. I have no problem paying 180$ for a real Bnet 2.0. I could even pay more. But there is no way i'm spending 180$ for a dumbed down Bnet 0.5 and a poor game. On May 28 2010 01:03 motbob wrote: Facebook integration is really useful, actually. Way more important than those useless features like channels, cross servers, or a proper ladder.

And in boycotts, you typically don't go out and utilize the product you're boycotting anyway.... but yeah bro, fight the system and stuff. You ain't cheap!
