So uhhhh, about 3 days ago I got an e-mail from my father's friend which I know kinda well (met him a couple of times when I was visiting my father in France) and in it there was a job offer in Singapore...
It's basically 2.3k Singapore Dollars/month for 35 hours/week in HR and some random customer support stuff. Somewhat linked to what I'm studying (business management/marketing) but I've been wondering whether or not to take it because I'm about halfway done with my studies and it's quite far for a decent period of time (2 years).
I feel in a way it's an amazing opportunity and I've seen Singapore praised quite a lot (despite having it's bad side but idk any country who doesn't have some). Looking at the other side of the medal though, I'm somewhat scared that when (or if) I come back I won't have the motivation to go back to school.
I've started college quite early (thanks to Quebec's broken ass system and the fact I was "adapting too fast" in elementary school) but had a rocky start going in a major I didn't like. I've changed to my current majors which I've learned to love (it's been hard for me to find something I really like) but when I was in transition between majors I had a really bad drop in motivation due to the very little amount of classes I had. I feel in a way if I stop studying for 2yrs I probably won't have the patience or whatnot to go back to school.
On the other side though, I figure I'm only 19 and there's about 3 years to get my bachelor's degree.
My advice is to take it... it's not too often that these thing up and walk into your lap. I think you'll find that motivation to finish school will come out of necessity when trying to find a job when you come back. This will undoubtedly give you some perspective on life and what you want to do.

not 100%, obv. since I know the guy I'm sure he could try to pull some strings if things don't work out as expected but I'm not exactly sure if his powers extended to there
2.3k is the basic salary for an undergrad in sgp as far as I recall. You will get just enough just to live comfortably but won't be able to save too much.
IMO, work for 1 year then quit and go back to school. You won't gain as much exp after 1 year of working plus the repetitive work will drain you out.
When going back to school, you'll appreciate education so much more and will do well. Then that will be the right time to look for a real job. At least that worked for me.
I would go for it. You are at the perfect age for this sort of thing. School can always be finished later. The life experience and memories you will leave Singapore with will make you glad you did it.
My advice is to not save any of that money, and instead spend it all partying and having fun with TL people. You'll have like 70+ hours of spare time a week.
why is it called singlish? it's not like spanglish (spanish + english) or konglish (korean + english) because "singaporean" isn't a language. or is it............? i've always thought they spoke chinese + english (thus, "chinglish")

It's basically a massive bastardization of bad english + various chinese, due to not everyone having solid english.
People are so proud of their terrible speaking ability they'll even spell it the same way and add the useless words ('lah') on forums. It makes communication really difficult sometimes.
