The last part is frankly absurd. To say an organization doesn't weigh popularity when choosing casters doesn't explain why Day[9] is at every major LAN or why MLG flew Tastosis across the world. Obviously the general popularity of a caster is a major factor in an event choosing who to hire. i dont think its true....day9 and tastosis are simply the best, thats why.and maybe thats why they are the most popular. Reread what TotalBiscuit wrote, what I wrote and then what you wrote. Edit: To summarize: TB: Events don't care what people think about their casters. Me: Of course popularity dictates which casters events hire. You: Day9 and Tastosis are the best. That's why they are popular. (??)
its stupid to explain. and mb my english reading skills arent good enough and i didnt get the point. but i think even when tastosis wouldnt be that popular, gsl would still hire them, because they are skillwise the best. and if i would be the best league in the world, i would also want the best casters and not the most popular. that the best are also the most popular right now with day9 and tastosis is just lucky for us
and you also have to seperate popular casual casters(khaldor TB), and popular high level casters (day9,tastosis,wolf,diggity). and lets imagine khaldor would have half amillion fans more than day9, while day9 has the same amount of fans like now. gsl would still pick day9. because they would differ between a casual and a high level caster, no matter how many fans khaldor has more.
edit: now i see, but thats not exactly what i wanted to say. i just wanted to say that skill is still bigger than pure popularity in terms of picking a caster for the best leagues in the world

Wow.... guys, I'm simply amazed by that overwhelming feedback! I really appreciate the support, thank you so much! Never expected such a reaction to my post!
I read through the criticism as well and I'll try to improve on those points. I've been trying to be more analytic and I think I improved in the past weeks and months. Obviously im no Day9 but I'll make sure to further improve my understanding of the game and also work on the other points that were mentioned!
Thanks again for the support, you guys are awesome! ♥

Go Khaldor do everything in your power to let them know that you are committed. You will make Code A a lot better with an analytical code caster (or you can improve upon it yourself).

LeonStarcraft should defiently be considered. He is awesome! best of luck Leon!

Lets go Leon! Leon is a beast of a caster, and he's young just finished uni i believe, so not tied down. GOGO LEON!

Surprised that HD or Husky havent been invited to go. I know HD is working the IPL, but Husky should go. He's really popular on the NA scene and he deserves it.

That's not what I meant Chill, lemme rephrase. "Community opinion" for the most part, doesn't exist. The SC2 community for instance, is a completely nebulous beast. TL is a SC2 community, WP is a SC2 community, Reddit is an SC2 community, B.net is an SC2 community, then arguably there are communities surrounding individual YT casters, many of whom have their own websites which could be considered sub-communities of their overall viewerbase. Individual forums have their own SC2 megathreads that are in themselves, communities. So what it comes down to, is even if a large number of people in one of these groups express an opinion, it's still not only going to be a vocal minority of that individual community, but a VERY vocal minority of the entire community in general. There's no point in shouting that you don't want a particular caster as if it'll factor into the decision, the popularity of particular casters can be found out by other, more reliable means.
On another note, if they don't give Khaldor a shot it'd be an injustice. Talented play-by-play with Wolf's analysis would work well.

Dont think day9, think artosis. Then you can be the most awesome caster ever!

Hey TB you are a great caster and all but .. you would do yourself the biggest favor ever if you could learn to ignore people and stop arguing with everyone and their grandmother who would critisize you in any way.
As much as I like your casting you are putting yourself in a bad light everytime you argue with a random person or even worse a player.

I agree that the "people spamming on a message board" metric isn't exactly a strong one

I'd like to go as far as to say that Code A may not actually be the place for "popular" casters. Just as it's a place for players to break into Code S and achieve superstardom, it may also be the place to discover new casting talent. More to the point, popular casters in the West already have a lot of commitments and the Code A salary is not exactly attractive. Big-name casters are pretty much all committed to growing the foreign scene, they can't do that in Korea. There's plenty of talented casters out there that deserve a shot to grow their popularity amongst a more hardcore viewerbase, that don't already have a big fanbase.
