Toastie did a good job answering imo.

A side note: please don't rely on EMP as detection lol. It's very suicidal.

For the last few days I have encuntered dumb loss after dumb loss. I can go back through the replays and point out everything I did wrong, so I just keep laddering and try to keep from getting frustrated. I've ran into another issue, however. After so much laddering my fingers just feel...fragile. I catch myself missing injects, forgeting to set rallys, building incorrect tech structures, and taking shortcuts in my builds that just cause dumb losses. I'm curious, has anyone else run into this issue? Should I just not ladder for a day or two untill my feel my finger strength come back or is this just a sign that I'm playing enough?

How to autorepair as terran, and how does it work?

right click the repair command button. There is a way to do it with hotkeys I'm pretty sure but I don't know it. Auto repair will simply cause SCVs with either the attack or stop command currently being issued to repair damaged mechanical units or structures.

i didn't feel this warranted it's own thread anywhere on the forum.

so, i use 1000dpi on a 1920x1080 monitor.

i want play SC2 on a different computer but the monitor has a max resolution of 1024x768.

what dpi would i need to put my mouse to so i have the same mouse sensitivity as 1000dpi on 1920x1080?

In auto saved replays, can you see the chat of your opponent if they used allied chat?

No, you only see whatever chat you saw in game.

Just set it up mathematicaly, Apixles/DPI=Bpixels/desiredDPI

1080/1000=768/X X=desired horisontal DPI
1920/1000=1024/Y Y=desired vertical DPI

Because the aspect ratio of the 2 resolutions are different, you will need to set up independant DPIs for both axis. If your mouse can't do this...then I guess just pick one and go with it.

alt-R turns on auto-repair.

Also, auto-repair applies to SCVs who are on Patrol, as well.

Would any masters+ Zergs be willing to go through about 5 ZvT replays of mine and write up a play analysis and what I should work on? I really like the other 2 match ups as zerg but suck at zvt

is it true that when a protoss building finishes, its ability to wall changes? (ie you might be able to pass thru a building cc but when its done, its impassible?)
because something like this just happened to me and I swore the probe could move thru a tiny gap between the forming cc and the terrain but when it finished, it formed a complete wall

That sounds like the sort of thing you should make a help thread about, given the scale and scope of the request.

I recommend you make a thread similar to this post but you
A) include your 5 replays
B) include your own detailed analysis for each of the 5 replays
C) talk about what kind of help you're looking for, what you think you did wrong/right, and where you, in your analysis, get confused about how to improve / what to do.

Follow the guidelines outlined here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=210370

and you should be able to make a quality OP that attracts many helpful comments.

Sounds like you're tilting. Take some time off.

Maybe as much as a week -- not long enough to get really rusty, but long enough that you feel like it's been quite a while since you played. Don't ladder, don't even play custom melee games, maybe don't even play UMS. Sometimes when this kind of thing happens to me (admittedly more in other games than SC2 specifically, but I think the principle applies regardless), I come back and end up doing noticeably better than I ever have. Not always, but... yeah, take a break. The fresh perspective when you do come back will probably help a lot.

What would be the best way to learn/switch to Zerg?
Reading advice from Artosis/Cecil would suggest picking one build for each MU and practicing it until I know it cold and then hitting the ladder and learning deviations.

So: What are the most solid/standard builds for each Zerg MU?
And how would you verbalize the general mindset/playstyle?

What was the name of the build or link to the thread or any info that may help me find the strategy where there is Rush consisting of

A ghost
A reaper
A hellion
2(?) Marauders
(?) A few marines?

There might even be a nuke, I think. I remember the thread talking about how micro intensive it was. But I can't find it

14 gas 14 pool (pull off gas at 100) 15 hatch (speedling expand) will pretty much work for any match-up. For match-up specific things I recommend searching for guides on TL, but for some starters:

TvZ: pretty much any early terran shenanigans can be absorbed with speedlings, queens and spines, once you feel safe, resume mining gas and throw down your lair. Your mid-game plan will be pure muta-baneling, playing match after match and/or watching pro replays can help you work out the more specific timings.

ZvP: Roach baneling infestor (corroptors if your opponent goes air) is what I see as most solid in this match-up but it is a debatable topic. You'll want to resume gas mining whenever you'll want your lair, and this differs from match to match. As soon as lair finishes, OV speed to scout your opponent. From there you just play reactionary, and respond to what you see. This kind of intuition comes from playing, or more specifically, losing games.

ZvZ: Your early game plan should rely on superior numbers of speedlings to defend super early baneling aggression with a roach follow-up (go for roaches whenever you feel safe). Lair once you have a solid drone count, and at this point the match-up surrounds infestors.

I'm a protoss player and I really favour opening with High Templars against Terran players, since they usually go MMM. However, transitioning into the late game the Terran often go ghosts, and I find it impossible to win a fight... EMP just rapes me. Am I meant to split my HTs and micro better or should I just be transitioning into Collosus and suiciding my HTs in drops on mineral lines?
