We will be running at least 10 more KOTHs per region, so there will be far less chance that people are equal on points in a few months time.

Hopefully having a prize pool this big will draw all of those players to Malaysia. Might be better to have this event later in 2011 or sometime during a gap in big events.

Ive criticized many FXOs decisions in the past but this is awsome. Thank you FXO. I know you always does everything with the best of heart and it really shows.

such a huge prize pool very nice

500 Dollar travel expanses. You can get a return trip from Seoul for this money, or a little more.

Please note that FXOpen e-Sports staff reserve the right to alter the selection criteria as required and that no one is guaranteed based solely on a good online KOTH result.
:D
But other than that, sounds awesome. Bit worried about the format but we'll see how it turns out!

Bit worried about the format but we'll see how it turns out! There may be a case where someone is higher on the ladder but who can't afford or doesn't have a team to support a trip to Malaysia even with the $500 towards it. Also the ladder points system is quite new and there may be unanticipated flaws in it There is a long way to go before the event so it's best to warn players that the final format for the event may be tweaked between now and then n_n

sounds great, I hope the players are as exited as I am.

I first read 2,000 $ and I was like "wow, this is good money for a KOTH"
Then I realised I didn't read correctly and I passed outé This is so awesome ^^

Will be intresting to see a KOTH with 20,000 prize pool
|
Thx FXO for this awesome event !

Well the only chance for some players with big teams but no chance on success to get there and keep going with hyping themselves up and showing zero reslults. Should be really just picked buy activity and results in fxopen´s. but it would not be a big surprise if in backround some money flow is going on and teams are buying themselves spots.

Stupidest thing said in the thread. Read my earlier response to why I included this.

Wow this sounds awesome !

Super initiative from FXO, looking forward to this albeit...
first time FXO will broadcast an event from our studio infrastructure in Malaysia.
I don't know how the internet is in Malaysia, but i wish you the best of luck with the broadcasting.

I don't know how the internet is in Malaysia, but i wish you the best of luck with the broadcasting. Well, Kuala Lumpur is a highly industrialized city and is one of the centers of Asian economy so I don't think internet will be much of a concern.
Best of luck with this, my only concern is that if this is broadcasted from Malaysia, it'll probably won't be in a good time for viewers of the american continent :S

We dont need the money for people to buy spots. So it wont happen.
