Unfortunately for Ensnare we continued to play. I feel bad for him but nothing we can do there. kk, lag sucks, but thanks for explanation. gj darkforce! really? that's such a dick move from darkforce, i guess he thought he couldn't win other wise?
or maybe he had another tournament or his brother's funeral scheduled, we don't know, better not call him a dick and a coward maybe.

even bbb doesn't do 2 rax all-in. most people go 3 rax or the slightly slower 6 rax which is imo much better.

Have you ever played with lag? I live in South Africa. I always play with lag. Then you understand the concept of key pressing and it's delay into being recieved by the game..... Yes, it doesn't matter. He almost certainly has under 1 second latency (any higher and you tend to just drop). It is not a big deal to queue for 1 second, people do that when there's no lag too. but then ensnare had lag spikes thruout the entire game so that threw him off as well Yes I'm sure. I'm not saying it doesn't matter, not at all. It tilts you, and completely fucks up micro - especially when the latency is inconsistent. I'm just saying it doesn't affect macro.
I find it odd people assume he would have played well but for lag. This is the guy who just produced one of the worst GSL games ever, with fail after fail after fail into loss.

It's one thing if Ensnare was stubborn and pretended like lag wasn't affecting anything, but Darkforce was given the option of (possibly) making it an even playing field.
Shady win? What if Darkforce had other commitments already for the next day?

What a shame that darkforce refused to try and give his opponent a lag free game. Oh well... we can only blame blizzard.

Come on man. Maybe Darkforce was busy? These guys are pros, they can't be expected to rearrange their full schedules to HELP THEIR OPPONENT.
You know if it was 1-1, and you had an advantage you'd do it too.

This is one of the few matches where i root for both players :D

whitera and incontrol! I don't even know who to root for here. My 2 favorite Toss playing.

+1.
As unfortunate as it is that he could not delay there's no need to hate on the guy.

No, I really wouldn't.
You say he may of had something to do, but it's very possible he was just being a dick and taking an unfair advantage. Both are possible, and it's not really warranted talking about either way.

So if scv doesn't build until 5 seconds after you hit s and workers don't start building supply depots until 5 seconds after you tell them to your macro will still be fine?
You could never maintain a connection at 5 seconds latency. Don't make shit up. Horse shit. I've played in conditions in which I've had that kind of delay, how about you don't accuse people of making shit up? i think yo are the one full of shit, 5 seconds is a fucking long ass time and you would 100% drop out of the game long before even a full 2 seconds of lag
Herp derp, not actual 5 seconds of delay but lag LIKE THAT (aka BAD LAG). Don't be so damn literal and nit pick. The point is that excessive lag exists in which it literally feels like everything is taking about 30 seconds to occur. Who cares what the actual numerical value of the time delay is, the point is that it SEVERELY AFFECTS PLAY.

NASL (or whoever) should never put a player in the situation of having to choose to be "nice" when that would be detrimental to them. Either they shoot themselves in the foot or they're a dick, it's not fair on them. The tournament organisers should make the choice for them.

What if he *shockingly* rescheduled for another time? Or is he magically busy the entire week?
It doesn't make Darkforce a bad guy. But it certainly puts into question what the results mean. And again, he was given the option and refused.

Since NASL is a tournament over the internet, they should definitely make some rules regarding lag where they can force players to play another time. Since theres no rule for it now, I don't think its a dick move from darkforce, but there definitely should be a rule that would force the player to play another time whether its hours, days, or more later.
