Hello, all!
It's become quite apparent that many of you are not reading the first post carefully.
Failure to do so in the future will be met with swift punishment. And as always, remember to be civil.
Thanks,

I don't believe it is. I wonder if there is a way to ban from commenting on threads but not making threads. IdrA contributes the occasional in depth thread that is really well done and if you look through most of his posts (not recommend he has quite a few ) almost all of his epic BM is in comments to stuff.

Always sucks when this kinda thing happens.... but Idra has had plenty of chances to "shape" up. If it was anyone else he would probably be perma banned by now anyway.
They gave him a chance to apologize and he refused....the ban seems justified -- what sucks is I don't think even 3 months will change anything =(

As much as I love IdrA (I don't miss a single stream or game in a tournament from him, if I miss it I watch the VODs.) I have to say that this was necessary.
For a very long time now, his behavior on these forums has been directly opposite to what this community represents. His status as one of the best players in the world has guarded his frank and very often offensive one-liners long enough, but he has obviously taken it a step too far. Directly insulting other persons is just rock-bottom level in any form of communication, even for IdrA.
The rules of this site are not hard to understand once you've been around for a couple of months, and not hard to follow either. Openly stating that he does not plan to behave like a normal civil human being in the future is just a big "fuck you" towards the entire TL staff and the community.
All in all, very well deserved imo.

he's a professional gamer, at least he could act a bit professional at times, I'm glad TL sticks to their policy regardless of the person

Telling people to basically spam Chill is crossing the line. Justified ban in my opinion.

Theres one thing i know.

That account was created on 2004-07-31 20:59:50 and had 11027 posts. Reason: A few days ago, one of our moderators (Chill) banned Idra for 2 days. After the ban, Idra encouraged his fans, through twitter, to harass and spam him on TL. We spoke with Idra and he stated that he does not regret his actions and will not change his behavior on our forums. Thus, we've decided to ban him for 90 days. Regardless of whether he felt the 2-day ban was justified or not, we cannot tolerate a forum user publicly encouraging harassment of our moderators. We understand that this decision may be unpopular among Greg's fans, but we have warned and banned him before about his conduct toward our staff members. We simply cannot accept this sort of abuse and insults directed toward our volunteer staff members who work very hard to make TL what it is. Idra's stream will still be listed in the stream section. Our stream list is an informational resource much like the TLPD, Calendar, or Liquipedia. We believe for these resources to function properly, they must be comprehensive and complete and thus we do not remove banned pro players from them. Feel free to discuss this here as long as things stay civilized. We're going to ban for flames and insults from either side.
I fully agree with your ban. He's taken his 'bad boy' image to a ridiculous and uncivilized level. His recent actions have been hurting the community and not worth the time.

i can't see this making him change tbh, i think if his stream got banned (which would cut into his income) he would actually have a reason to change. Not being able to post doesn't matter to him.

Does teamliquid have any kind of statement in regards to that? There's nothing wrong with joining the ladder at the same time as someone else. What action could we possibly take against that? So if you were streaming, and you got matched up against idra, and he magically knew everything you were doing only to find out later that he was checking your stream to see everything you were doing, you wouldn't have any problem with that? No.
And thus TL continues to live up to its reputation for horrid, heavily biased moderation.

My issue is that I feel like both idra and cruncher are in the wrong here. If it's Chill's opinion that stream ghosting isn't a punishable offense, then he doesn't see cruncher as being in the wrong. That's also completely fine, but this sets the precedent that TL can't punish anyone for ghosting a TL member's stream while claiming objectivity. You haven't been reading. Ghosting is not fine. There is no reason to assume Cruncher was ghosting, and even less proof of it.

When someone tells the masses to write a letter to their congressman because they're upset with something they should be "banned"? It would be more like telling everyone to call up and harass a police officer for arresting someone who broke the law. He broke the rules of teamliquid, and recieved a ban for it, that's how it works.
Well, what if there is something wrong with the law itself? What would you do? TL is my favourite site as to its content and discussions, but the site I hate the very most because of its too strict rules and too ban happy moderators. This is a forum where everyone can speak their mind, and occasionally people will post showing affect display - something which is human.
Let's say you are forced to play a game vs someone you already do not respect, and he makes you destroy every single one of his buildings. Next time you see he snipes you, and gives you good reason to believe he also cheated during the game. Now this would make anyone angry, and if it is SC2 related you might vent on the go to forum for sc2.
Let people express some personality! And don't force everyone to act like the clones moderators seem to want to mold users into. Idra thought cruncher was an asshole and it was in his nature to express himself in a way insulting towards him. Should he instead have said "I do not much care for people I believe might have been cheating"? People are different and should be allowed to express their personalities and their emotions.

You know, there's been a lot of friction with team liquid and EG.

@sc2ttyl - Not sure why you think skill in a game justifies bad manners -_=

Grow up, maybe then people will actually like you more. I fixed that small mistake, as there is a difference between having skills and playing a race with a large advantage.
Anyways, TL does support people with a better reputation, but I agree. Spamming moderators who help promote eSports and the pureness on TeamLiquid inappropirate.

Idra will continue to be able to stream, he is not affiliated with Teamliquid at all, and neither is Justintv, if he streams and he wishes to be featued on TL he can be, if he wishes to stream and not be featured on TL he can aswell, his choice.
The only thing different is revoking his ability to post due to the malicious comments.
