At university my friend mentioned that in S Korea they played starcraft as a professional sport. Interested I decided to take a look and quickly subscribed to Cholera, Husky and HD, back when they were doing commentaries on Broodwar. I got hooked on the skill shown by the players and the high production values of the Korean competitions. As a gamer from a young age (I grew up playing snes games with my older brother and then many console and PC games in the years to come - especially enjoyed the red alert series, would doesnt love mammoth tanks?!?) I enjoyed rpg and rts games but had never come across starcraft, so after watching some english commentaries i got an old copy for myself. Whilst it was still fun to play I was really waiting for SC2 and so with the games release I got myself a copy and enjoyed it immensly.
I now watch the GSL (my god boxer was awesome today) as well as the wonderful TSL and still love the game as a spectator sport. Unfortunately ive stopped really playing as I found 1v1 laddering fairly stressful and an intimidating environment. After watching Day[9] daily 269 ive been inspired to re-start playing online myself and so I thought I would start a blog to see if anyone else fancies playing some relaxed games to try getting back into the game as well as improving (dont mind 1v1 or team games).
Im a gold league player (or was in season one, havent played at all yet season two) with some amount of rts knowledge but will play with people worse or hopefully (for your sake) better as well . Happy to chill and chat about gsl or other tournament play as well because lets face it..We all enjoy discussing/playing the game we love!
I play on the EU servers as Im from England, so time difference wise it might be best if you dont live in Austrailia if you want to play some games .
My ID is AceZero if you fancy it, but even if not, good luck out there on the ladders and have fun!
(Also appologies if this is in the wrong section, and my terrible punctuation and spelling...this is my first post on TL!)

Haha, I recently just watched this episode and it has inspired me to start playing again [this is why i LOVE day9] I'm from the UK to and my ID is: Caz online so add me to if you want.

it's good you decided to start playing again... you shouldn't let playing online intimidate you.. if you don't want to ladder you can just play customs. I feel like people who are too intimdated to play are missing out on a lot of fun.. as playing SC2 is even more fun than watching IMO. GL HF!

If you stop playing because you are intimidated, IMO you care too much about your ranking. If you can really get into the mindset that the ladder is just for practice, i think you would really benefit from it.

if you really want people to add you you might have to add your ID too... it should be AceZero.XXX , where XXX is obviously your ID
Otherwise.. welcome back to the game i guess ? Don´t let the game stress you, and have fun

Haha yeah forgot about that! Its AceZero and 87D for the code
Also @ Chriamon I think thats the biggest thing i got from the daily! Stop worrying about your rank and start having fun again with it

Uhh 87D is an invalid code, the code is made up of 3 numbers.
|
the code is 870, he just read a D instead of a 0
|
Yeah its 870, it just looked like a D on battlenet cos its tiny
|
Yeah cool I added you and I could play with you regularly if you'd like and perhaps give advice.
