I can name many better players than Destiny, but I don't know why root denies recruiting him for his popularity. He is a good entertainer. You can say that its his destiny to be good. This guy whines like a little bitch though. You don't hear catz whining about imba each time he gets tvz or pvz on steppes.

I can't stand people who blindly comment and talk as if they knew it all... So please... tell me some of ROOT's players acomplishments before they joined ROOT... see if you can come up with... 1 maybe per player. HIGHLY doubt it, BECAUSE WE HAVE ALWAYS SCOUTED AND RECRUITED BASED ON POTENTIAL. (except maybe minigun who was #1 on the ladder, but still wasn't very good at all when he joined us, and he knew it back then, he just had potential) like this post there are a good 20-25 others, some guy saying "im not even in ROOT's lineup im in management" me and drew are listed in on ROOT as Leaders of the team because WE MADE THE TEAM and because we LEAD the team. This is not to say we're not players, it means we're also more than that and if you were someone who needed to talk to the team, that we are the point of contact, as opposed to any other player. I am the highest rated ROOT player on the ladder for what that's worth, and I do quite well vs other teammates in practice games. either way, I don't ask you to like this descision, and I wont say i don't care if the community doesn't like it, obviously what this game is, we all owe to the community. But if your initial reaction is against, please take a time to read the reasoning behind this in the interview or previous posts, and if you have the time go watch Steven's stream some, i guarantee the more you watch, the more you'll realize he's a great guy. I do watch his stream. I also help spread the word of it by upvoting his posts on Reddit. That said, I like watching his stream for his personality, not for his raw SC2 skill. I understand what you're saying when you say you recruited him based on potential, but potential isn't a tangible thing you can easily judge. I guess what I'm trying to say is there are better players who you could have recruited instead of him, who had results to show, and who by all counts showed just as much if not more potential. It doesn't matter what accomplishments past ROOT recruits had because honestly, that doesn't change my previous statement at all. Also, I wasn't presuming to know what you were thinking. Please don't presume to know what I was either. It looks like a struck a nerve but really, I was being completely objective and didn't mean to strike a nerve.

It's entirely great that ROOT is already looking at the skill-ceiling instead of current skill-level of new players. Not really considering that after like 2.5k ladder games, destiny is still pretty average among the high master. His focus also seems to be entertainment and having fun rather than to improve (which is cool with me) so I question this pickup in term of competitiveness but no doubt it will be a good publicity move for ROOT and Esport in general (since he is popular).

Usually when a top player masses games, he will naturally appear on the top 200 even if he's playing below his level. A lot of great players like Select and especiallly countless europeans mass ladder.

However, I think this is the third week in a row of massgaming by Destiny that he is not on the top 200. I wish rootgaming the best of luck here. Well considering he had been mass queening on another account and playing a lot of inteam custom games getting to top 200 on ladder is a bit harder.

I can see you've been paying a lot of attention to his stream....... He's either been practicing with people or giving lessons every time I've watched his stream over the last couple of weeks. Or mass queening. One of the things that getting on a decent team does is make your ladder rank worthless. You can screw around now, because you'll be facing top competition in practices and showmatches, not to mention tournaments. Your ladder, instead of being your focal point as before, is now just a sub-par practice league. I personally think he's drastically improved his level of play since the last few months. He played a lot of practice games vs ~3700 masters terran yesterday, and he made him look like a silver level newbie.
