Poker and Starcraft are pretty close Even liquid's own RasZi is a wellknown poker player! That's true but I've always remembered Daniel as somebody who would make jokes at SC gamers. Like that big table game or whatever where he and Doyle made comments like "you should be playing around with girls, not computer games". Also best example of SC-Poker player is probably Elky?
Best example is probably, by far, Hevad Khan.

In reference to the linked article where they said, "North American eSports League", it was in reference to the MLG. Didn't have anything to do with nasl.tv.
Anyways loving the OP's find. If this is something on par with GSL, u will definitely see me going to a grand finals to watch live. We have heard tidbits of "studio" here and there from incontrol so we can only hope this means to include a live audience. ^.^

That's the same time as the Clash of the Titans show match between Jinro and IdrA. If you check out the who.is information for NASL.TV, you'll see Gosucoaching was the organization that registered the domain. Moments after this topic was posted, it was closed and moved to a hidden forum. I guess the mods had a little talk then decided to reveal it again ~20 minutes later. On SotG, Idra announces his return to the US. Just in time. And the clincher: At the end of today's SotG, an image came up with the text:"It's coming... NASL.TV" Conclusion: North American Starcraft League now all of the people that didn't come to that conclusion are star struck xd/

i hope you're right that means I call this shit perfectly! wahoo.

You are about to crash and burn so many people's hope.

I hope it's a different thing myself, just found it odd that those letters stood out on an article that included MLG and expanding the market for it. Probably just coincidence but thought I'd link.

wowowoow. Fantastic find. North American Star League would be SIIICK!! The West rly is gonna be the center of SC2 Esports! :D

Not my intention at all!
But, the article is pretty clearly written. IMG is helping the brand become global. inControl is excited about his involvement in a project related to a website nasl.tv
the .tv domain extension almost certainly suggests a TV show, or a telecasting service. My guess is that the recent influx of "power" from IMG has allowed them to pull strings in various media connections that will give inControl's TV show some teeth, as opposed to a show cast from a couch or a bedroom.
My guess is the G4, or one of its affiliates is involved in some way, as is MLG. nasl.tv will probably be more of an entertainment and media coverage channel than a new league. Just my thoughts.

True. but he was a player for liquid in broodwar. thats why i mentioned him.

If this is true, then it doesn't look like the foreign scene will fall that far behind the korean scene anytime soon.

This has nothing to do with Incontrol's announcement at all. NASL.tv's countdown on the website lines up perfectly with the clash of the titans showmatch, Incontrol said it'll be the biggest event in western esports, so it all just makes sense for it to be a North American Star League. Ur link is solely talking about MLG expanding to EU and SA.

That's my point. People were referencing that article and the State of the Game which featured Sundance, saying they were related.
I don't think they are necessarily related either.
The nasl.tv countdown lining up with the showmatch only lends credence to my prediction that nasl.tv is going to be a professional telecasting service - which would be huge. But, if it is a new league to compete with the league that already exist, that would be cool too.
Who knows?

Anyone else hope this is a LAN and not another online tournament?

Ah alright, I thought you were saying the two were related. My mistake.

of course! I don't think it will be an online tournament, especially if it's televised.

Man I can't wait to here more about this. I wondering if this will be online or even an awesome lan :D

I figure something with the name NASL.TV is probably referring to a channel on a stream of some kind and not necessarily a television broadcast.
