Poker and Starcraft are pretty close Even liquid's own RasZi is a wellknown poker player! No offense to "RasZi" but I'm pretty sure there are more well known Starcraft-Poker references.
Elky, Rekrul, Hevad lol. RasZi? Shit.....

So this is pretty exciting to say the least. I cannot cannot cannot wait to see what happens! :D

Would've been a better surprise to find out about it the day of, but it's going to make my week so much better - that's the same day I get high speed internet haha. No more waking up at odd times in the morning to watch a video game tournament and then being dead during classes the next day...

Can't wait for more details.

Well RasZi has been getting a lot of airtime on tv recently ( pokerstars big game ). It helps that he is friends with Daniel.

Can't wait!
If this is a league like GSL that takes place over several weeks instead of a couple days, I wonder how they will handle transportation/logging? it would kind of suck to have to fly to some far off location to play a league game once or twice a week. I wonder if they'll set up some sort of inexpensive logging for the players?

Pack your bags boys, Evac is on the way.
I'm confident Liquid would dominate the NASL. hfboards reference?
anyway I'm still just intrigued... when we see more concrete info, hopefully i'll get excited.

Watching NHL doesn't deter you from watching Olympic hockey or World Championship or World Juniors right? NHL vs international hockey is a good analogy for GSL vs the potential league. Maybe they will be GSL players maybe there won't. But this new league is definitely gonna be huge, and has great potentials. And before EPS goes global, this is gonna be THE international starleague. I think one thing your overlooking is that most people from NA watch the GSL because thats about all there is, other than smaller tournaments. If there is going to be a NASL I am pretty sure you will see a lot of people choosing to watch that over the GSL. This is similar to choosing a team in any sport. You are more than likely just going to watch because YOUR team is playing You might still watch it when other teams are playing just because you like the sport, but you will almost always watch when your team is playing. So if there is a NASL, most people will watch that over GSL in NA because they are closer to those players.
I will watch both as long as there is free VOD's/Stream for NA users. It's kind of like Wheat and Chill were talking about in the latest WoC.
Unless they come out swinging with more content/production value off the bat. It's going to be a hard sell for me, even though this tourney will likely feature more of my favorite teams/players/casters. It will still feel like a second tier league compared to the GSL to me at least.
GSL vs NASL 1-2 times a year would be awesome, and in time would help narrow the disparity between KR and NA (skillwise).
I hope we see some partnership between the leagues, and I certainly hope that this does not discourage top foriegners from playing in the GSL.

You fools are dancing in the palm of incontrol's hand. This "leak" is just phase 2 of the HYPE.
+ Show Spoiler +But seriously, nice sleuthing!

Clearly this is just an elaborate coincidence...

You should have gotten a career as a detective lol

Assuming this is a GSL-type format league, this is going to be infinitely more financially plausible for North/South American players and teams. The flights alone to Korea are absurd.
And if we're talking about skill-level of those involved in the tournament compared to the tip-top of those in GSL, (coming from a non-Masters player here) I am going to be just as excited to watch these matches, if not more. Regularly scheduled pro-matches to watch is what really draws me, and like was said earlier, it'll be more like rooting for my home team with our American players going at it(hopefully against some Euro, Korean, etc. players as well).
Soooooo happy if this is indeed what we're going to get. It'll be great if competition with GSL starts bringing some of the Korean players over to compete in the US instead.
