Plus wouldn't having Sundance on SOTG a few days before announcing a competing league (yes, competing - no way around it) be quite....strange? Yeah, I think sooo. That's just my feeling, though. Could be wrong. MLG is only 6 weekends a year so all this new league if thats what it is would have to do is not have games for like 5 days on an MLG weekend.

Releasing the nasl.tv URL was definitely part of the plan to hype this up. The Announcement will be who is involved, and why that involvement improves the chance of success. There is no reason to compete with MLG, especially at the start-up level. There is almost certainly some level of investment in nasl.tv from some bigger players. Some speculation would be; a show on G4 or ESPN3? That's what my gut is telling me.

That was kind of given away with that billionaire business dude wanting to 'spread MLG globally'. And obviously what better way for this introduction than the showmatch with idra and jinro. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKf4Y2JB6LE&feature=player_embedded Perhaps on cable tv? =] Wow, that is the coolest ever. I absolutely love Sundance. He's so good at what he does, all the interviews presents himself really well, to the point great speaker, keeping it real and many more fall from this shower of admiration. Might put on my Captain Obvious costume here but he's literally the guy that arranged the meeting with IMG and then convinced them to partner up. Taken from when he talks about trying to bring Fortune 500 companies in. Mad love Sundance, you are my hero <3 Sundance was on a podcast from VT gaming. Really good interview, definitely recommend checking that out if you enjoy Sundance talking esports future. I have tried searching a while ago but I wasn't able to find it. Edit Get hyped the fuck up and Sundance is a handsome baller :3

Who he will partner with, I'm still unsure. It could be anyone from JP to Day[9] to even Wheat. Isn't it obviously going to be Gretorp? They are moving there together, after all. I would love for Day9 to be involved in this big thing, but it doesn't seem super likely.

I think really need to try and switch to be called e-sports It's going to be like that for a long, long time. Don't get bothered by it. Think about how many people still say, "omg, Golf?" or, "omg, Football?" When a kid gets home from school and loads up Halo, he is playing a video game. When the owner of a small business invites his buddies over for a Madden '11 party, they are playing video games. When Jinro face MKP in a major televised tournament, they are playing video games professionally. Growing "e-sports" as a brand is important, but to try and change the connotation that "video games" have earned over the last 30 years is going to be very challenging.

I think really need to try and switch to be called e-sports I dont like the term "e-sports". I mean i dont consider video games a sport, and i dont think we need to define all video games as "e-sports". Call it Starcraft, CoD, Halo, not just e-sports.
