Hooray, another caster thread! My tastes in casters has changed since the beta and after the first months SC2 went live. Day9 > Artosis > Tasteless > JP > TotalBiscuit >>> djWheat >>>>>>>>>>>>> Husky > HD -Credit goes to Husky for introducing me to Day9 in the HDH. I don't watch Husky videos anymore. -Initially didn't like JP. The first time I saw him cast was at the King of the Beta. But I think he just gets better and better every time he casts another event. -The more I listen to djWheat, the less I am a fan of him as a caster. Although, I think he's excellent on his radio show and I listen to him every week. -I've always liked Artosis more than Tasteless. But Tasteless has gotten MUCH better ever since GOM got someone else to do the observing. At the same time, I think their gayness for each other makes them both greater than their individual selves ever would be. -The problem with TotalBiscuit is that he could be casting a Starcraft Tournament, a Football game, or a wedding and they would all sound exactly the same. The thing he has going for him is that he's really funny so it makes it entertaining. I think he's very good in small doses. -The problem with HD is that is sounds like he's trying to use a much bigger vocabulary than he's actually capable of wielding. If he toned that down I think he would be much better. -The problem with Husky is that "being a dude in a room" is his greatest quality. | ||

I love TotalBiscuit, he provides great entertainment for the spectators who aren't heavily in-depth with all the hard core strategies and game play. There is room for more casters like TB who can commentate on the game to the spectators who just want a fun experience without needing to be good at the game... he is contributing well in the sc2 community so hats off. | ||

Artosis is the best caster right now (eventho i don't like his balance talk). But in reality the pro gamers are the best casters, as seen in the homestory cups, demuslim for example. | ||

@caster discussion: I really don't like Total Biscuit. To be honest, to be a caster, you have to know the possibilities of each player's openings, what they do, and and him being at like gold/silver level (anyone watch him play day9? it was painful -_-')is KIND OF worrisome. At least Husky got to diamond (even though he often has very very wrong opinions as well) | ||

Pretty sure, incontrol will be one of the casters. Who he will partner with, I'm still unsure. It could be anyone from JP to Day[9] to even Wheat. | ||

day9/wheat combo has had like one of the best chemistries i've heard live and I'd love them doing more JP is good one too But you have to also give it to the pro players themselves, lot of whom have been casting have been great as well. Funniest example of casting has to be Khaldor though, don't speak a word of german and I could still follow his casting ^_^ | ||
