So I bought a Razer Salmosa [Asian Edition] earlier today. I tried it out on SC, but then I realized it really doesn't suit me. That thing is freaking small for me, more so that I use the palm/claw hybrid. Even for an Asian guy like me the Salmosa is effing small.
I'm having it exchanged tomorrow before I head out to school... probably getting an Abysuss/Deathadder. Anyone know which one is better for palming/clawing grips? Thanks a lot for the feedback.

Seriously its that small? Abysuss would be your best bet since its a basic no-nonsense and simple mouse. Plus, its pretty comfortable and not that small. Its good for your type of grip, though i dont know how is a palm/claw hybrid grip is like.
|
The Salmosa is basically the same size as the Abyssus, atleast the normal one. I'm unsure as to what the asian edition is. The deathadder is quite a bit bigger.
|
Well, I got the Asian edition, I tell you it's barely the size of my palm. For reference, think of me as a 5'10" Asian guy who can grip a standard sized basketball with one hand. Soooo yeah I think I have big hands :/
The normal one isn't that readily available in the Philippines, so count the normal sized salmosa out. The Salmosa is pretty ergonomic, it's just that the Asian edition really won't work well with a palm grip type.

Yeah the Asian edition is tiny as hell.

and that's the regular edition Salmosa! The Asian version is ~20mm x 20 mm smaller.
I like my Abyssus a lot and I use palm grip.

Is the Abyssus good for playing Broodwar? Is there much of a difference between 800 standard DPI and the Abyssus' 400 or 1800 DPI? Is it heavy? I really can't stand insanely heavy mice D:

If you've got big hands and put your palm on the mouse, you don't want an Abyssus.
Try a DeathAdder or a Lachesis.
|
It weighs about the same as the standard Salmosa (105g for the Abysuss vs 104g for the Salmosa). It's heavier than your current Salmosa of course, but it's still pretty light overall.

Okay, I rest my case. It's confirmed. I am a 100% claw grip. lol How's the Abyssus with Claw grips Obscura?

I've got tiny hands, so I can grip it just about any way I want; for someone with normal sized hands, Razer reccomends the Abyssus only for finger grippers, and the Death Adder and Lachesis for claw grippers.
For context as to my hand size, my maximum "thumb-to-pinky" span is just over 8 inches; average is 9. Likewise, my hand length is about 6.5 inches; average is about 7.5.

My span is at 9, turns out my hand size is pretty average. Link to the Razer recommendations? lol

Okay wth. That's just retarded. The rating drops to 3 stars when this isn't even something I put much thought into D:

Do not get a razer mouse. I know they're a great sponsor of SC2 but I'm saying from experience, their build quality is horrible. I suggest you get a Logitech mouse, specifically the G1 or the MX518. The optical sensors of those 2 mice are great. I'm using a G1 right now and it suits the palm/claw grip quite nicely. Plus its really light weight so its perfect for SC2. You can grab one off ebay for around $30. You won't regret it.

I returned my Salmosa and got an Abyssus instead. Weird Z-Axis issues with my Abyssus but it's pretty much perfect for my grip.
Thing is, I got a Razer because it's actually cheaper than logitech from where I buy it from. Logitechs cost me fucking 6,000 Php which is like 140US$.
The Razers only cost me 40-60$.
|
UPDATE: I had my trackpad on by accident. False alarm. No Z-Axis issues lol.
Abyssus is probably the best mouse I've ever used. Yeah, I like it better than my LMO and Deathadder

Did you look the salmosa up before buying it o_O afaik it's more suited to the finger grip type thing, especially the asian/progaming/whatever edition. I'm using the standard Salmosa and enjoy it quite a lot :O!
|
Yeah, I looked it up. The Standard Salmosa isn't available in my place unless specially ordered, and if I do that, taxes + special fees will cost me more than if I buy something as expensive as Imperator/Lachesis. lol
