This should be epic. I'll be there
Epic indeed, fuzer will be there!
I think I will be there. Sounds awesome
I'll be there too propably =P. Nice prize pool!
I wouldn't win considering paying all these fight tickets will also be quiet expensive. Wish i had a local tourny with this kind of prize pool. Sounds fun, home to see Liquid down there
Great. I urge every fan of ESPORTS to attend and/or follow this event via the streams, it is a huge opportunity to show the Northern European tournament organizers and sponsors that there is future in StarCraft 2.
This will be mind blowing. I will watch the streams.

This looks awesome, flights available from manchester/London from £30 singles and some are £15 from easyjet. Seriously tempted to fly over for this, any information on location of nearby cheap hotels/night life/sights to see etc? May as well make it a good weekend :D And anyone else from UK flying over? More fun if people meet and organize stuff together
EDit: Is it byoc or not? As the site FAQ says its BYOC?
I think pro tournament is non-byoc and casual play is byoc

Sent an application. /cross fingers
Last year during the Winter Assembly it was around -20 to -30 C in Helsinki. And just today the long term forecast promised a very cold winter for us. So remember to pack some warm clothes if you come!

The eurohostel is decent, i was staying there for 3 or 4 days during a field trip for my studies this summer.
i already sent an application aswell, would be nice to visit helsinki again aswell =)
Awesome. I guess I gotta come watch, no chance of participation thought.
Couple of things that might interest those that dont know. The Cable Factory (old, Kaapelitehdas in finnish, renovated cable factory (duh), ex premises of Nokia no less, now an event place) is right in the middle of Helsinki. Metrostation is about 400 meters or 1/4 mile away. Public transportation works great in Helsinki so dont worry yourself with being right next to it. Its cold. What else... Night life should be good.
Is there a chance to spectate?
I'm travelling europe at the moment and wouldnt mind checking helsinki out .. Would be nice to see an SC2 Tournament live ...
Could you confirm if spectators will be allowed?

To spectate you need to buy an entry ticket, which is 25€. If you have a laptop you are allowed to bring it, but you won't have your own place to set up, but you can of course use the WLAN internet.
In my experience the spectator area wasn't great at the past events (there wasn't one, really, kinda), the screen is a decent size for the crowd though. The main event in the summer is awesome but WASM is kind of an offshoot.
