The video is real, or very close to it. I've noticed crazy lunges myself, I've seen gameplay videos of crazy lunges (by the person recording, so not like it was the enemy lagging and looking like he lunged super far). Apparently someone rage tweeted it to the game dev and he said that not "everyone" was complaining about the lunge like the person claimed, but that he would discuss it with the team.
Rapid Fire being good wouldn't surprise me. I didn't even bother checking it since I expected the higher recoil it gave guns in MW2 (but the Spas doesn't lose range with a silencer on, so who knows?). In COD4, when it was the Double Tap perk, it gave roughly the same time to kill as Stopping Power did. The lower damage a gun did (like 20) the better Double Tap was, whereas high damage guns benefited slightly more from Stopping Power. At 30 damage they were equal (difference on either side being hundredths of a second, so not really noticeable). Wasn't much of a difference between the two, though. You do burn through ammo faster, but that's the price for the faster kill times. With Stopping Power gone, Rapid Fire is a reasonable option to look at.
Here's a segment from one of the first matches a guy named Blame Truth played. Knife lunge happens right before his eyes. It's not Commando bad, but it's kinda silly when you realize everyone has that by default.
The knife being a one hit kill is ok, given the health system COD uses it often isn't practical to swing twice (Riot Shield says hi). In Halo it takes a bit longer to kill someone so two melee hits makes sense for that game. The issue then occurs when the knife, which is really more of a backop, last resort option, becomes so good that you can use it as a main attack - aka, when a super lunge is involved.
Taking info from Den Kirson's site. COD4 melee has a range of 64 inches. If you were sprinting (reasonable to lunge out of a sprint, especially as it can be a tad harder to aim accurately while still sprinting) you'd get double that for 128 inches. In MW2, Commando added 176 inches to the 128 inch melee charge. Didn't mention anything about non-sprinting so likely the same. Biggest change (aside from Commando) is that the aim assist/target lock/hit detection was pretty picky in COD4 whereas in MW2 (and apparently Black Ops) it is quite generous when deciding if you "hit" the other person or not.
Doesn't appear to have the Black Ops knife measurements up yet.

Eh, I'm going out on a limb here and say ALL of your problems are rage-related. If it's says a server is full, then by god, the server is full. If the servers doesn't state if it's HC or not, then the OWNER of the server doesn't want it to says so, not treyarch or activision. The FPS problem is know, if you use google for more than 5 seconds you will find minor fixes that, in most cases, can bump your FPS a few notches.
I haven't touched wager, so can't help you there, but read line one of my response for a semi-accurate answer.
ive spent 2h "using google" as you say before i wrote the post looking for config tweaks and ive managed to get 5 fps up, the game is just poorly optimized and i dunno why you defend it so hard. i like the game and i play it, sorry if its not allowed to point out its flaws, which are there whether you want to see it or not.
and as for matchmaking - it doesnt exist, "play ranked" just puts you in on a random server (which is ok but i thought the game would have both servers and matchmaking)
and console version having penny wagers and PC not is just plain dumb

In the server browser you can set the filters for game type, hardcore and some other stuff. I dunno if you can filter everything you want but, stop raging! Bad for your health.
i cant see if a server is hardcore, barebone, mod switching or map switching unless i join in, and youre telling me thats ok?
PS. sry i didnt know pointing out the flaws of a game is raging -.-
- Tomahawk now doesn't bounce and instead will imbed itself into walls and floors. - AK-74u damage reduced by one bullet at all ranges - MP5k damage reduced by one bullet at close range - G11 damage reduced by one bullet at all ranges - Nova Gas now drains health 25% slower - AK-74u accuracy changed to that of the MPL - Crossbow normal bolts are now available in multiplayer - Fixes to the matchmaking system (PS3 and PC)
Not sure Nova Gas needed a nerf (guess they didn't like a tactical grenade being able to kill), but otherwise reasonable stuff.
Put it in a spoiler, as it's looking like a troll post.

just went through the campaign...gotta say it's not bad... have played better stories but a lot more worser ones! the only thing that bothered me was the bad synchro - i played the german languageversion (don't worry, still uncut ) usually th german synchro's on tv-shows and games are much better compared to other languages but this one was just...bad! other than that it was quite fun
edit: lol...is the zombie thing after playing through the game and watching the credits normal? just saw a short conversation with kennedy, nixon, castro and one other guy and then the game started... i'm playing as kennedy right now in the pentagon...
Thinking about it, not entirely sure how legit it is.
Normal Crossbow bolts aren't available when I checked, and if Tomahawks don't bounce it'd be rather hard to get the "bank shot" medal. I also can't see them lowering the minimum damage of the AK-74u as I don't think any gun in COD has done less than 20 damage before. Also seems kinda suspect that most of the guns targeted are the current "omgsoOP" guns, ignoring how most ARs are better than SMGs and all other weapon classes.
It'd also be very kneejerk reaction to change guns that much so soon after launch.
Edit: Yeah, seems to be a troll post. Went to their forums and found a list of PS3 updates. Edited previous post.
Checked the Wii/DS boards but apparently they don't have an update thread stickied, which is kinda funny. Looks like the PC hasn't been getting as much love as the consoles, basing solely off of those threads.

I also believe it effects the piercing ability of the bullets on walls etc, and vehicle damage. So in Hardcore, SMG is obviously going to be preferred, since you move quicker, shoot quicker, and reload quicker, and well it's hardcore, so damage ranges don't really matter all that much. Non-hardcore though, you'll find that the differences are a little more noticeable.
This is all well and good on paper, but the damage drop off on AR's isn't noticibly different from LMG's. What's the point of having good range if the recoil stops you from actually killing people quickly at a range. Assault rifles have a high firerate and low recoil that quickly matches the LMG's abiltity to do dmg. Also the speed at what you move and bring up your gun are sooooo much slower than an AR.
Before LMG's really made up for the deficiencies in speed with the large ammo and low recoil (grip), but now that they have no ammo, and higher recoil (no grip) they are just bad AR's. The only exception from this is M60.
From my experience with the guns I don't see any difference in the bullet penetration or vehicle damage.

If these are true then that is fantastic, but are the ones you put into a spoiler still true? I feel like those are good changes also, except for the nova gas one. Nova gas is already bad, if they nerf the damage of it they should make it so you have two instead.

I dunno if you didn't bother to read my post because you're so angry at the game but on my copy I can set it so that only hardcore games are listed, or just TDM or CTF etc. No idea if you can check for barebone or mod/map switching (shouldn't be any mods out quite yet since the mod tools were just released... and usually servers that don't switch maps have that in the title)

The ones in the spoiler are almost certainly fake. I just left them there instead of "erasing the evidence" so to speak, given that a few people posted about them before I realized they were fake. I blame google for not taking me to the official forum and making me do it manually.
Played a few practice rounds and it was nice and casual and fun.
Then I went into ranked matches to level up and holy shit lol. I actually enjoyed playing hardcore servers, and the faster pace is fun, but the weapon situation is game breaking for brand new players. You have to be so much better than your opponent to win with the shitty starting weapons against their AKs and other shit that kills fast, reloads fast and aims better. I suppose for a new player it's just birth through fire and you have to get spanked constantly by campers, guys with better guns, and campers with better guns, before you can get them yourself and own noobs yourself.
Noob question; is there a way to switch your weapon set/class mid game or do you have to wait until the next match?
Oh.. and fuck nuketown. Map is way too small to take seriously. Throw in domination or CTF and it becomes a clusterfuck. I won't even go into the spawn system. In some situations it's pretty fun and interesting. In others it's an aggrivating death trap.
I just played the multiplayer last night for the first time and I must say I'm impressed. The single player was really underwhelming, so my expectations for the multiplayer were pretty poor to begin with.
I like the credit system, so now I don't have to get everything purely from leveling. I also really like the maps; so far the ones I've seen I really like. Nuketown, while I initially thought it was a little cheesy, and a bit of a novelty, is actually kind of fun.
But now I'm mad that BO is taking time away from me losing ladder games on SC2.
I really like how the AK47u feels in hardcore right now. I hope they don't weaken it too much, it's such a fun and classic gun, I feel very COD-y when I'm playing with it.
Vahn has a thread on the forums about the spawning system basically trying to figure out what's wrong with it and how to fix it. Asking people to post videos to help them out (asking for the whole match/big picture such as killstreaks, where both teams are, etc.) to get to the bottom of it. Said that during development that had a 98%+ success rate of spawning people so that they couldn't get hurt/shot/shoot someone else for at least 3 seconds.
It's nice to see the developers making an effort to fix the retarded shit, even if it did ship with some pretty nasty bugs. More than we can say for IW.

It's not that bad. You can get every perk at level 4? So you should be even with perks. And the M16 is a great gun. It should be enough to stave you off for the hour or two it takes to get to the FAMAS.
Edit: Thank you, Treyarch, for working on fixing the spawns <3
Anyone actually like MW2 a bit better? Actually now that I think about it I love both games in an individual way. As retarded as this sounds, I loved the rage and graphics MW2 had, all my awesome S&D games with RL friends. Going 30-2 on ground war ez.
Then again I love all the non-gayness that BO has. How they fixed so many things. I would pass on the graphics though, but overall I love both games!

Honestly I wouldn't mind having to run like 10 seconds to where the action is. At least I could get my head oriented and know where generally is safe. At the moment its like there could be enemies in every corner the moment you spawn. Its especially annoying when theres a spawn timer of like 15 seconds and you get killed 1 second after you spawn.. and then get spawn killed again to wait another 15 seconds..
