This is the first time I've ever had a piece of art truly resonate in my soul. I knew it as soon as I saw it...absolutely captivating. And I didn't find it in an art museum or gallery.

Ignore the aesthetic beauty, awesome lighting, and prominent details. When you saw this picture, what did you see? What did you feel? Not colors, details, placement...but content.
When you know for yourself, open the spoiler. + Show Spoiler +I see the courage to dare. Adventure, joy, hope.
You can add metaphorically whatever you want to any object, but all this picture really is is one boy, daring to do it. Every time I see it, I'm struck and inspired. I want to print it out really big, frame it, and put it somewhere where I see it every day all the time. The only way to accomplish what I truly, truly want is to dare it all. There is a part of all us in that picture.
It's ineffable. I can already feel these words diluting the feeling, I hope you understand. One of the most critical, exciting moments which defines all others. Take another look at the picture.

I just realized the photo had no name. Until photographer gives it one, I'm just naming it "Courage"

i just thought "oh, it's just a nice picture" but after reading your second spoiler... i looked at it in a different way. very nice insight.
the courage to dare - 5/5

The kid has a bike with training wheels but is riding in a tough / weird place. I see a "break free" kind of thing going on here.

Seems a little lacking in focus. My eyes don't want to land anywhere because they feel awkward everywhere. Kid looks like he's about to ruin what looks like a nice wool jacket. I love the first and third fall pics from that page you linked, though.
The fountain pic reminds me of the movie Blank Check.

a moment of calm, tranquility, and innocence in our world. I really like how the cars fade in darkly in the background, yet still noticeable.

I'm sorry KurtistheTurtle, but if he had the 'courage to dare' he wouldn't be using no goddamn training wheels

Training wheels? pfft. Details, details. You're at where you're at, you bring in all your past experiences with you. he's risking it regardless

This is flattering, thanks a lot. I named it 'Unda Veho' which is Latin for wave/water rider. It was either this or 'Fearless', but I opted to be fancy. What I personally like about this shot is its spontaneity, this kid just literally jumped in front of my lens (I was shooting the fountain water).
And yes, he actually fell (eventually) and got his pants all wet.
