I also own a PS3 to play other casual games, and I think it does a really good job at it. I used to be a PC elitist and used to bitch about how the PC platform is getting ditched and dumped by developers, that is until I got myself a PS3. I don't regret one bit. I'm still sad about PC market's decline in FPS games, but if you guys are a real fan of CoD, I think it's worth spending $100 for an arcade xbox just for that game. You can see it as an investment that will allow you to play all those good console exclusives. IT definitely worth it when you have friends that play it too. Tons of fun.

I'm not a huge FPS gamer, especially when I prefer hitting more than 3 buttons to win, so me getting a console? Nahhh

I'm in a similar boat, I played tons of PC fps growing up (CS/Q3/Tribes) and couldn't really stand console fps. I also stopped playing CoD after one of the very first ones (can't remember which). I did end up trying MW2 on PS3 though and I must say it was the first console fps I got a similar level of enjoyment out of as I did from CS for example. It's of course not nearly as fast but it doesn't feel as sluggish, probably because of how quickly you can run & the smart autoaim. That being said, this time around I wanted the "full" experience so I picked up Black Ops on PC. I like that it's steam integrated and I'm getting tired of BFBC2 on PC. See you guys online, I'm in the steam group as okuRaku BTW, anyone have a good comprehensive list of console commands / config settings available? They seem to have carried over mostly from Q3 but wasn't sure.. Specifically, I'd like to try turning off toggle on sprint if possible..

360 version: XBox live fees + no dedicated servers PS3 version: no dedicated servers PC version: dedicated servers but... engine is f***ed up So what do PC FPS gamers look for now? Medal of Honor was pretty bland, MW2's host system + aimbots make it unplayable...

I see that as a sort of a problem... Quickscoping overnerf means you can't really use sniper rifles anymore. I don't even want to buy this game anymore.

Single player (on pc) is incredibly fun, by far one of the best fps campaigns I've ever played. Gameplay is smooth, everything runs fine so far. Haven't tried multiplayer yet though. It's really a lot of fun.

So, snipers are now forced to play like snipers? I think it's a good change although I've always been impressed by people who were really good about quick scoping. Might ruin the fun for some, but I think it's heading to the right direction.

Wow. Thats really disappointing. I have multiple friends on my FB that went to the midnight release that are already trying to sell their copies, and now this.

edit: no quickscoping is what originally made me interested in getting this game.

I covered this dumb ass argument over at The Escapist, here's the highlights: 1) COD maps do not allow for conventional sniping. 2) Staying hardscoped for that long is always a liability, no matter what range you're at. 3) There were much more concerning imbalances (like killstreaks especially) that were overlooked in favor of nerfing the relatively minor quickscoping issue. 4) The only quickscoping that was actually a problem was traditional quickscoping where the hardscope never even came up fully before the shot was fired. In the video, he's scoping for .5-1.5 seconds before the shot, so it's not even a conventional quickscope, but a fast shot.

But, now it is different, they don't want it. Why is this a reason not to play? Because you can't quickscope any more? Because it removes a significant difficulty? Why not see what else comes out of the meta-game in the future? Or play a game with only quick scope...

There has always been bigger open maps that was more suited for sniping than others. Just because there's a sniper rifle, doesn't mean you need to use it every single map. There's barebone mode if you think killstreaks are broken (and definition of "broken" is often relative each individuals' experience). I can't say anything because I haven't played it yet, but dogs were a bitch and a half to deal with in WaW. About the time needed to stay in scope for an accurate shot, I understand your point. I rarely used AWP in CS because I hated the time it would take to unscope/quick tap qq (and generally lacking the skills for it). Still, people mastered that weapon adapting the disadvantage (no scoping, wrist snapping) and got the weapon banned in many servers. My point is, this is a new game in the franchise (read Black Ops, not Modern Warfare 2:Episode 2) by a different developer. They thought this change was appropriate, and we can't do much about it. If you think this will ruin your fun, so be it, you make the call on how to spend your money. But again, this is the internet. My opinion is retarded to people who disagree.
