Well my original thread got closed. Let's not compare it to previous FPS shooters like Counter-Strike or Quake or Starcraft II.
My opinion of Halo Reach is that it is brings back the feeling of Halo 1 to Halo Reach. I really love the new individual power ups like the armor lock and jetpack. I also like the return of the health bar as well, even though there is a slight change. I just started the campaign so I will put up a review if I ever get around to the campaign. The multiplayer is a lot more solid than I expected and for me, is the selling point. It is a lot more attention holding than Halo 3 for some reason. I don't know what it is but I just like it way better than Halo 3. I hopped back on Halo 3 last night with my girlfriend and the changes made were definitely noticeable, such as the melee time.
Overall, I'd say the multiplayer gets a solid 9.5/10. My only gripe was the amount of time it takes to match you with a player.
The review for the singleplayer is still pending. Will submit a review soon!
What are your thoughts about Halo Reach? Not the previous Halo games or other FPS shooters... Please stay on topic.
Also, please post your gamertag on XBL if you would like to play. Mine is Kr4zY kOr3aN.

+Good/Great multiplayer -Map pool is kinda mehhh +Campaign seems solid so far from my experience +Campaign seems very good off praise I hear from other players +No lag in any MP I have played +Weapons are not unbalanced to all holy hell +Forge is awesome if you are into that kinda thing +Easy interface to play with friends quickly
Overall, its worth a get if you have an xbox and like fps at all. Wouldnt say it its worth buying and xbox for though.
Just remember its only Halo, and enjoy it. Its a blast if you do.
Picking this up soon. The maps I played at my friends house weren't that great, hopefully theres some better ones. I loved the Halo 2 maps, I wish they could bring some of those back

I think they DID bring a lot of Halo 2 maps back. Except the remakes are not so good. That Ivory Tower or whatever got a remake, I think
Had a system link at a friends house yesterday, from what I saw it was a good improvement, but I dislike how the DMR feels, BR was just so awesome. My biggest gripe, as others have said, was the map pool. There really isnt much there in terms of maps, and it's kinda annoying how they are probably just holding out for an overpriced map DLC.
i like how they put some halo 2 maps in the game with some different skins that is a plus but the spawns are kinda bad imo. The gameplay is great it shows skill to be effective with the dmr but the downside, u get horrible teammates that go -10 or so and screw your team. The invasion game mode has a cool concept didnt try to other objective types. The forge world is great and the customizations are awesome this time. The gear buying is a cool addition that gives you a extra feat to try to obtain. Didnt play campain yet so cant post my feedback but overall 9.5/10 for my votes
P.S: Please stop voting swat its getting annoying playing 90% of my games as swat thanks
Had a LAN on Saturday and finished up the campaign on Sunday.
Multi feels like a return to form. As a Halo 3 hater, game is much like Halo 2. Felt very tight where there wasn't lag. BTB still has lag to it, but not as much from the previous versions. Map pool is meh at best. Wish there were more smaller sized compact maps like Halo 2 had (*that are original to Reach, Obviously the ported Halo 2 maps make me wet.) I think i've played enough to where I like the DMR more than the BR. But it could just be the small ass reticule. I've always enjoyed a smaller one in all my shooters.
Also, for those who don't like invasion too much, check out this one with some friends. We found it incredibly fun 3v3 and 4v4. Felt a lot like Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and frankly better setup than the Bungie ones. Bungie tried to make them super huge and feel epic, but I always felt the objectives were too spread out. In Heist it's pretty simple and the rocks look cool when blown up. Give it a try, link here: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-competitive-maps/105212-heist-v2.html
Campaign was pretty good, but nothing really stands out too much other than... + Show Spoiler +
Space fight, felt really good and worked quite well and broke up the game nicely. Felt like the pacing was pretty spot on till the last level where you're working up to the Autumn after the mongoose sequence. It was just one room of random dudes after another for like 45 mins. Really enjoyed how nicely the game fit right into CE. The after credits ending was a sweet touch.
Not a serious player of the Halo series, never even owned a copy. For me it's just a game to play 1 run through the campaign and maybe with some friends on occasion.
That said, this is definite improvement, it still retains the disgustingly sterile look I have come to ignore, but it feels better and the gameplay is as good as ever.
This game is epic, get your friends together and play a casual game of infection on the map reflection, we customised the version to be ninja infection which is actually ridiculously good fun. I might link it up, essientially no motion sensors and no tags to tell anyone where you are, you cant even tell if they are allies until you see they are holding a magnum not a sword. One zombie massive pace no evade, and a hell of a lot of OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII*****************t whenever you see a zombie. You have the magnum but its 2 bodyshots or one headshot for a kill, we have already invented our own prestige kills as a non infected you have roll, so a roll turn around headshot is a james bond a la the man with the golden gun. And if you manage to beat a zombie down, we call that a jason bourne. GOOOD TIMMMMMES, it has even stopped me from playing SC2.
Not to mention we are playing a lan with some horror music in the background no lights its gonna be siccccccccccck!
Orb and myself got the game yesterday and started playing it and... I fucking love it!
Seriously I wasn't expecting a lot from this game. I loved halo 1, loved halo 2 multiplayer, and never really liked the other two games, so my hopes weren't set too high. And then we start playing Reach and... wow!
I seriously recommend this game to anyone who likes shooters. You can sprint (finally), and using the machinegun and sprinting around like a retard makes you feel kinda like you're playing mass effect. I also usually don't care about graphics in a game, but these blew my mind. There were so many times where we stopped shooting things just to look around and admire the gorgeous scenery.
The single player I liked simply because it was different (it's kind of depressing knowing what happens, but you do it anyways because you're a BAMF Spartan! - especially that last last last mission for those of you who have played it) The multiplayer is OK so far, still need to learn the maps and weapon spawns to make it fun Not too huge a fan of the recoil, but at least they're not hitscan.
As for the weapons, rockets are REDICULOUS now (remember when you could jump and survive? Bungie didn't like that apparently). The DMR is pretty cool, glad they brought the pistol back. That sticky rocket launcher is also pretty rediculous.
I am enjoying the forge more than actually playing the game. So fun making stuff! If only I could figure out how to program it to play like I want! I wanna make a soccer game where mongoose are the player and stuff! Don't know how to make it register a goal though

Ha, it is pretty easy to understand, I wrote it in a rush, so yes the grammar wasn't perfect, but neither was yours. I see no capital letter, so if you are going to be picky do it right eh? As to constructive it is a 'serving suggestion'. Have you tried my game mode yet? Hmmmm. So next time you chose to write something about someone else's post make sure you aren't being hypocritical, as your post is hardly constructive is it?
