Anyone gonna be watching Reach at Dallas? I'm torn as to whether I should watch Reach or SC2... I haven't really watched/played much Reach so I have no idea how good or competition worthy it is.
Yeah I think I'll do a few switches throughout the broadcast.
I didn't really have much interest in Halo 3 as there was no consistency in placings and team rosters. It made me think that there was much less individual skill in the game, and that was also apparent while watching pros play H3 compared to H2. When you saw someone do something awesome in H2 it was like "wow" whereas in H3 it felt like anyone could pull off a sick move.
I was hoping Reach would have a high skill ceiling with individual skill being vital to make it pro, and therefore making it more fun to watch than H3. We'll see. :D

Not so much Pistola as the entire team.
Also that kid is mainlining amphetamines like nobody's business.
Definitely the worst Halo game for sure. I really hate how the game revolves around just constant pressure on the other team, there's a distinct lack of methodical periods where solid strategy and set-ups are rewarded over blindly pushing.
The overall problem though is with the bloom, the bleed through damage and the terrible maps. If you've played previous Halo's, I think you can objectively state that it's by far the worst map pool ever. MLG has nothing to work with other than Forgeworld, which is intriniscally flawed anyway as it increases lag (for some reason...), added to the fact that the Forgeworld asthetics are just so damn boring and unspiring to play on.
It's a game that promised alot, but delivered little and it's a real shame. It just doesn't 'feel' like a Halo game, and is likely the primary reason as to why the population of Reach continues to plummit.
I tried playing the MLG games one time. Holy crap that shit is hard. Granted I do have a small delay due to the excessive length of ethernet cable I have to run to the router.

I got a question: What's better, the Needle rifle or DMR?
Like take Rumble Pit Rifles where your choice is NR w/Plasma vs DMR w/Frag. I go NR because of the plasma, and the faster fire rate means you can steal kills much better in the rumble pit environment. I know supposedly the DMR is better, but with melee and nades going off, you want to get that faster, guaranteed headshot vs the chance based bloom of the slower DMR.
I know the DMR is supposedly better, but the NR is just more solid with less bloom and faster fire. I guess maybe in that gametype NR+Plasma is better, but in all other instances you want NR? I just feel NR works better in rumble pit, as well in most situations, but DMR is better on paper maybe.
I hardly play Reach, and when I do I don't play Rumble Pit, so I can't really comment on how the weapons compare in that gametype. However, in the more serious team-based playlists like Arena and MLG, pretty much everyone considers the DMR to be the superior weapon. Some people prefer the Needler Rifle, but as far as I know every single pro player uses the DMR.
