Also, the field of view for Reach is wider than for Halo 3 so if you had a sensitivity you liked in Halo 3, you should bump it up one in Reach (I used 5 in H3 and use 6 in Reach and it feels perfect). ...Thank you for this post. Believe it or not, I've been playing with 1 for all my life. So today I put it at 4. I'll probably just grind Gruntpocalypse so I can get better with the DMR. Would you be up for some MM or Octagon stuff? I'm scared that if I play actual people now that I'm going to be pulling off perfect nine shots. Lol I know a guy who was really good with 1 sensitivity. Not top level, but as good as I am, so it is definitely playable.

A friend of mine tore it up in Halo 2 on 1 sensitivity, not sure what he uses now though.

Yeah, I mean, I'd like to think that I'm a perfectly competent player. But one thing that kills me is that if someone shoots me in the back, it takes way too long to turn around.
Edit: I already hate the increase. It's really hard to be precise with my shots. Maybe I'll get used to it. Or maybe I'll end up going back.

if you want to get really good, you need at least a 3 sensitivity, otherwise you wont be able to react that well.. and halo is mostly a game of reactions, especially lately, because you can't really come from behind and win a one on one anymore.
|
I can't wait til they get rid of armor lock on arena. Hated that shit so much.... And I use 3-4 sensitivity depending on my mood. If I feel alert, I use 4, if not, I use 3. I'm pretty sure a lot of pros use 3-5 sensitivity too. I talked to Heinz (the pro) and he uses a 4.

Sensitivity 4 for a pro!?
O.o. I use 7. My brother uses 3 and there is no way I can react even remotely in time. He also has a tight and heavy feeling joystick, so that makes it even worse . Honestly with anything below 5, I can't really DMR right, and past 8 I can't snipe very efficiently. But hey, I'm no pro at Reach.
I think I'm getting the BR->DMR transition pretty well though, as SWAT has rehoned my skills and I even got a 29-6 on it earlier today.
Anyways, anyone wanna try to set up a few 12-16 Player TL games? I'm thinking CTF on Blood Gulch, maybe a little zombie action, and a LOT of custom maps.

I'll be on pretty much all night, so if people start getting one we can get something rolling.

yeah most pros use 3-5 in halo 3, there are the rare exceptions of course, if you have a good feel for 7 more power too you .. no idea about halo reach though, I haven't messed with my sensitivity since halo 2
edit: steady aim means a lot more to people then knee jerk reactions(for example, turning around and fighting back), making your shots count is much more important than getting to the target really fast if you get shot in the back, better to just strongside your way to cover and call for aid..
at the highest levels, there aren't many times your going to see someone turn around 2 shots down, and four shot the person by themselves, your going to see them run away, maybe baiting the other person into a team mate, or banking a nade themselves and 1 shotting the person who chased them into the nade, staying alive is the name of the game..
really staying alive and getting shots on people, keeping objective in mind, best advice you can give to anyone just starting out at a competitive level, of course there is more to the game than that, but if you get that down, you will be pretty good

3-4-5. Is definitely the best sensitivity. I don't think it's possible to be accurate with a controller above 5. I stopped playing Reach. Because it's so similair to Halo 3 my skills transferred over and I am just as good in reach as I am in Halo 3. Indivdually I don't think I can improve anymore. Ofcourse teamwork is everything in this game but I could never find the right team. So I quit.

story of my halo career, time and time again.. I had 2 awesome team mates for a long time, met them through halo, really good friends today, still go to Pheonix to see the guy that lives there, and my other friend from my team lives here in Vegas. Never got a full team of 4 that I was happy with, even with all the different teams I tried, hardest part about a team game

Not if you play Ranked games, unfortunately.

Ugh my friends and i suffered our first loss in a while to a team of 4 invisibles on sword base. We roflstomped them in slayer pro 50-23 but idk, they just kept sneaking around us getting shots on us, and once they got the shotgun/sword, it became very difficult to deal with them.
Also elite slayer can be so frustrating...armor lock everywhere X_X I use sprint/evade, my friends use armor lock so it's not a problem for them but for me, it's annoying to deal with. I've a few frustrating deaths due to my failure in timings against their armor locks.

Elite Slayer @ Sword Base gets voted in so much when I play that I've gotten into the habit of just whoring invisibility and camping the lift while praying the next game is on Asylum

I think I may main Call of Duty until the MLG playlist comes out. I can't stand default Slayer anymore >.<

Play Team Arena or Doubles Arena then! They always have Slayer Pro!

Is anyone getting the new map pack on Tuesday? I have to say, Anchor 9 doesn't actually look bad. The zero-G part concerns me though.
|
i can't justifying paying for the maps. lol
|
Yeah, I hope they'll be free eventually.
|
this will be the first halo map pack that I don't purchase or get(by getting odst or whatever), and Im not even worried about it. I don't play enough halo to spend the $ on it now, and I also just really dislike the look of the maps. Maybe some day they will be free, it was nice to have all the halo 2 maps go free eventually, but If the trend is like halo 3, I don't know if it will be same.

The first map pack on Halo 3 became free after a few months. Maybe this one will?
