The rockets have a huge fucking range of explosion. The pistol doesnt have enough ammo. It needs 2 more bullets i think. Also we need to get rid of the stupid armor lock jet packing garbage lol.

Aren't most of the good Halo 3 players going to keep playing Halo 3 until the current MLG pro circuit finishes? And what do you mean by too easy? The skill ceiling is so low that there's no way to differentiate between top 100 players and top 500 players?

In Halo 2, one dominant player was all it took to carry a team. Being that guy made the game *uber* fun. Team shooting is great and all, but I think Reach puts too much emphasis on it. Like, c'mon, I'm a spartan, I lift up tanks, I think I can take on one or two people by myself if I need to.

Wait are you saying the skill ceiling is low? because if so I agree with you, all the players are the same effectively its the teamwork that differentiates at the top level, becides I never considered any form of FPS that good for competitive play, especially halo which is great fun and no doubt has good players. But for me has always been social, if I were serious about any game it would have to be a 1v1 game, they seem to work better in competitive formats.

I really don't want to derail this thread, but posts like this really pain me. There is a little FPS game that starts with a Q that you might want to check out. Its been played professionally for over 10 years now and it has by far the highest skill ceiling of any FPS game ever, and it's 1v1. Anyway, Reach is a solid game. While short, it's the best Halo campaign yet. Lots of fun playing multiplayer with friends and plenty of replayability (can tell Bungie, knowing this was their last Halo game, wanted people to be playing it for many years) too. Finally I gotta say I'm glad Bungie is done with Halo. I'd hate to see their talent waste away iterating Halo games. Very interested in their new IP.

So next time you chose to write something about someone else's post make sure you aren't being hypocritical, as your post is hardly constructive is it? look, i am sorry :p i just came back from a ladder lose streak and when i saw a post with HHHOOOOLLY SHIIIIIT i guess i felt i had the need to make a remark. And yea, i was a hypocrite for that so my apologies Have fun at your lan! Edit: hell yeah i know infection, favourite gametype in halo 3. Cops n Robbers, mongoose mania, warthog survival, anything involving low supply forts, you name it! :p

The skill ceiling is so low that there's no way to differentiate between top 100 players and top 500 players? That complaint was identical to when Halo 3 hit the market... and the same when Halo 2 hit initially. In the end, people will continue to play it, but some top players will drop off because too many people are getting too good at the game too easily. Each game has gotten progressively easier, Halo 2 took like 0 skill to hit people with the sniper (still took skill in sweep shooting, and timing between BR shots). Halo 3... well... Halo 3 I gave up on pretty quickly...for a variety of reasons. /the sniper simply didn't work well at all.. I have a video of a guy getting shot in the head four times by my friend, all of them went through his head... I happened to get spawned near him, so I walked up behind to assassinate him, and got hit with one of the bullets that went through the guys head, and did not kill him... that happened more times than I care to remember. On top of that my friends are fags and refused to play MLG game types, so we always got stuck in games with gay spawn rotations that killed the idea of map control, and they'd cry and cry, but never switch to MLG... morons. But whatever. The point is, that same complaint has been made with every iteration of Halo.

You can't just get good by playing matchmaking here and there, you have to put hours and hours into it to become really good. Well yeah, no doubt. There was a plethora of reasons I quit Halo 3... and I pretty much quit gaming entirely at that time. It could be bias on my part, and where I wanted to go with my life at that time, so my memories of Halo 3 are bad (I was level 45+ in all the game types I played at one point)... but I doubt that, considering the amount of people I know that gave up on Halo some time after Halo 3 came out.. most of them said it was too newb friendly. But most of my friends that hated Halo 2, hated it because it was easier than CE.

Tyler: Yes all of the pros are actually required to play out the rest of the season for halo 3 because of their contracts with the league. On the other hand all the pro combines have switched to reach and the next season of MLG has already switched to Reach...so those players will switch over whether they want to or not. The skill ceiling is still up in the air at this point imo. You cant judge crap yet because the mlg playlists and settings have not come out yet. Nothing is competitive yet and the maps havent been established. When the real mapmakers get to work and we dont have to play bungie maps with horrible weapon spawns and such we will see how the game goes. Overall when i said the game was too easy i meant i dont lose when i search matchmaking. I just dont lose at all period haha. Thats what i mean by the game is too easy. The games are not close so the skill level is not equal. I have many clips i recorded where i embarrass some kid when im one shot and i 5 shot him hahaha. But yeah they need to just get some competative playlists where you could play some high lvl people consistently. Its like playing social slayer over and over against the worst kids possible. It would be like an established A- player getting matched against D alllllll the time. But yeah Sweetlemons halo 3 was actually a really good game at the high lvl, but not as great as halo 2. Reach i think is going to be lower then all the halos, but it will still be the flagship game for MLG

It has new players plus new players that are coming from MW2 I was mediocre AT BEST at halo3, and there are games where I am just going crazy. I think the skill ceiling will be just fine. Controlling the bloom will just be another factor pros can will be able to do in their sleep while I struggle.

I hope you're wrong, because I'm somewhat looking to get back into the game, and hopefully the MLG scene (I'll find a new group to play with, if needed). It's fucked up, my friends actually say "that's retarded what MLG does, we should play it the way Bungie intended for it to be played," which is like... the worst argument for anything I've ever heard in my life. But whatever, I hope you're wrong.

Also we hope that Bungie makes one or 2 good maps that could be used for the mlg playlist. Its also going to be interesting what the pros decide to go with for weapons because a few pros are saying they like the consistency of a 6 shot from the needle rifle more then the 5-8shot dmr.
