I wanted to learn to do proper reaver micro in pvt. I always like kill 1 scv or 1 unlucky tank and all my shit dies plus i forget to make units, which 5 minutes later results in me getting rolled because i cant do shit captain.
So to learn how to reaver micro i made a map (2 maps) that i believe will train your reaver micro but also at the same time will force you to macro. And i want to share them with you because every protoss out there should know how to reaver micro and i want all protoss out there to be the best ^^
Map1: This map explains the map: To download you must find the place where it says Save file to your PC: click here at the buttom Download link: http://jump.fm/IOMAA
Map2: This map is the map with triggers. This is the map you use to train. To download you must find the place where it says Save file to your PC: click here at the buttom Download link: http://jump.fm/LBWIU
I dont know if you will find it hard, there are some gosu 300 apm+- 100 here on this site :O - but if you do and just cant find out how to do it, i have a replay that shows/suggest what you must do:
http://repdepot.net/replay.php?id=37690
Edit: btw i wanted to post this in BW general T_T

I will download the map. Thanks for the hard work.

thanks for the map yo! i was looking for a map with just reaver micro, but i couldn't find it ^^; i really appreciate it! dl'ing now =)

Tried it... at some point the Terran stopped rebuilding. I think the rate of defilers is a bit high.. of course my multitask sucks, so feel free to ignore that.
|
I hope it works, I really need help with this.

I can't try it now because I'm at office. Does terran have turrets in the base ? Because I don't have too much trouble to drop/pick up the reaver with my shuttle, but I always find hard to evaluate turrets range, and stay away from the turrets while microing. What I mean is that in PvT, in most of the games my shuttle dies to turrets before my reaver dies to tanks/vults. :s Thank you.
|
I will definitely try this, thank you a lot, exeexe. Is there a map that train you to micro shuttle/reaver alongside with your army to push against Protoss or Zerg ? I often lose my shuttles in those battles because I can't control the army, micro the shuttle/reaver and macro at the same time, if someone know a map like this, please let me know. Thanks.

Yes there are turrets but i made it easy so you can enter the high ground without being fired upon at 1 place.

fwiw, I've done the research into how to make scarabs always bug out. You may only have the opportunity to fire a few scarabs if the Terran is prepared so you need to make every shot count.
In a nutshell:
Don't fire at mobile targets opposite a large obstacle (any building plus addon, armory or academy next to refinery, add-ons, and minerals) if you want it to hit. If you want to hit a line of stacked SCVs, it's more likely to succeed firing from the side than chasing them from behind. Try to attack perpendicular to unit movement (the direction of escape or retreat).
Don't try to fire across mineral lines unless you have no alternative. This is one position where your scarab will glitch 100% if the Terran micros.
And there's a Flash v Tempest replay that shows some very good micro from both players. I don't think you can script a scenario to do this.

yeah but this map isnt about just killing scvs. its about killing a whole base with just 1 shuttle and 1 reaver and an infinite amount of zealots D:

a reaver, a shuttle, and an infinite amount of zealots lul
u can annihilate any1 by rushing infinite zealots xD as long as he has no base he loses...unless hes haxor terran O_o

Thanks, love maps like these. Wish there were more for protoss, I know that there are tons for muta micro and vulture micro.

But the point of the map is to use the reaver so if you only use the zealots you can just go play another map.

could someone reupload this to mediafire.com? i cant use the link he provided. thanks

What's the point of having the zerg there? Seems like an annoyance while trying to practice reaver use against terran.
|
If your apm is like 30 i see your problem but really, if your gonna reaver micro like a fucking A- you need to be able to macro at the same time. The zerg is there to force you to macro. If you cant reaver micro and at the same time repel the zerg waves, play this map many many times because chances are, one day you can, and then you have learned a lot (in terms of multi battlecontrol, microing and multitasking), which you can use in a real 1v1 reaver drop combatsituation.

If he was skilled he'd float to the corner of the map... Anyways, I love micro maps, glad it's not just a micro tourney map where it's almost impossible to apply it to a game. I'll make sure to try this map out, thanks! ^^
