I believe Blizzard said something about people not using them because they would prefer to use roaches in the beta, I think it was roaches.
Besides that, I've been playing Starcraft, not well mind you, since my friend showed it to me ten years ago and I wanted to get into casting a bit with SC 2. I just wanted to ask for any tips or replay suggestions.

What does "Votes" mean when a player is lagging/disconnecting? Can you vote somehow to kick him?

You can vote to kick him once the countdown is finished. There is a button next to the countdown that becomes available at the end.

Yeah, I don't really play zerg now, because spawning larva is pretty awkward without it.

Just played a 2v2 where a player did the same wall in as Silver did vs IdrA (or HuK? Not sure which..Maybe both) where he put his wall at the bottom of the ramp (there was also a post about it a couple months back where everyone decided it was a shit idea). I asked him if he got the idea from Silver, and he said yes. Of course, I proceeded to kill his wall with the giant concave that type of wall-in can give you.
My question is... Are people really this stupid? The number of flaws in that type of wall-in are obvious and numerable (easy concave, no high ground advantage, no space for defending units on ramp, gotta lift buildings to leave etc). How can people actually just copy a good player's build without any thought behind it? I scoffed at Silver the second he laid that wall down, and I assumed everyone else would be too.
Seriously, people need to THINK before copying builds/strategies.
Anyway, that's all I had to say.

Actually it's quite a good thing to do provided the map allows for it to be useful.
On metalopolis for instance, place your buildings down & throw a bunker or two in the vicinity. It will cover both your grounds and a reasonably wide area around your expansion.
The opponent usually won't magically pull 20 units out of his ... to harass you, it provides a really good defense and even more allows you to actually get ahead. In front of such a massive wall most people will not second-guess and just think "huhu, he made wall there imma make air unitz n come from the back"; 99% of the times when I use this strategy it's what happens and the opponent usually rages that i'm a maphacker for having "seen" his air units when it's just a silly 10 IQ points conclusion.

ops lol nvm, wrong thread :D

Actually you get both. If you play 30 games as random as say, win 10 as protoss and 10 as terran and 10 as zerg, you'll get the 4 reward portraits.
oh rly, I had no idea, that's pretty cool

Imo it does give an advantage to the playstyle silver was using. I definitely agree that the buildings should be moved back any other time, but when your gameplan is to sit on the zergs face the entire game with a very anti ground army, the lower walloff can provide the same amount of high ground advantage, space for your 5 or so rines, and a faster and more efficient defense for busts while extending your "zone" into your nat a bit..

I disagree, but anyway that's not the point. My point was that people shouldn't just blindly follow builds that they see in VODs. In the case I encountered it it lost him the game. Just because someone 'good' does it, doesn't mean it's actually good. If you don't understand the reasoning behind something, don't do it until you do.

How do you create a thread in the stream section for POV games? I started a livestream as a high ranked diamond to provide some free entertainment and hopefully improve can anyone help? Also if you want I can provide the link

dont think this deserves its own thread... my bro and I are looking for another decent 2s team to play against- were 12-2 on the ladder (well 12-3 but 1 is disconn). Im mid diamond (elo 500) for 1s and hes not on the ladder yet, but im assuming he is low diamond level player. PM me for games- will be playing tomorrow 5pm-12am est.

I am having trouble putting replays I have downloaded into SC2 so I can open them in-game. I can view them by clicking on the file in Windows(or from Chrome) and it will open SC. I cannot figure out what folder to put them in.

Just create one in the SC2 general section and pm SonuvBob to ask him to add your stream to the list.

Blizzard changed the folder in order to make everything way more complicated
it's in c:\users\yourname\documents\Starcraft II\Accounts\28951080215(meaning some random number varying for each account)\some more random numbers and letters\Replays
If you plan on putting in replays there often I suggest you make a desktop shortcut..

Small question about the campaign. Can I replay a mission after I finished it in order to earn the research points I missed?
Also, is there a way to see how many artifacts i found in previous missions, to see if I've missed any?
Thanks

I know it largely depends on the situation, but: 1. Generally how many Corrupters should i make per Colossus in ZvP? And also: 2. If the opponent has Stalkers (let's face it, he will have), if they are A-moved, will they attack the air or the ground units? 3. Is it worth it to suicide a bunch of them, in order to kill as many Colossi as possible before sending in the ground army?

is there a way to see your vs race win rates?
