It just doesn't appeal. This only really applies to excessive drinking, and I will have the odd glass of something with a meal, but generally I just prefer the safety and taste of something non-alcoholic.
what about upping your chances of;

I enjoy the taste of many different drinks. im almost the opposite i love getting smashed out of my mind, though that's probably cause i dont do it that often. But god damn drinking is the best thing to do up here just because of the people and atmosphere involved. You've never been drunk until you've been drunk at a party in northern canada. The good thing about alcohol is the taste stops mattering once you are sufficiently drunk Well, it's probably a difference in age is why you feel that way. I use to be like that too, but I grew out of it and you probably will too.

I haven't drank for a few months, and don't plan to ever again, but I have to say that the thing you say 'tastes bad' is exactly what I love about alcohol. It's what I love about black coffee, and cold tea, and working till I am completely delirious and insane. If alcohol didn't affect my consciousness (wasting so many nights), it wasn't unhealthy (my poor liver and brain), and it didn't cost so much (gaahhh, wallet), I would drink vodka all the time just for the burn it gives my mouth. I actually relish the burn of Listerine once a day because it's the only ethanol I still get and it feels soo good.
HI MY NAME IS CHEF AND I AM A FREAK
edit: also, anyone who says they don't drink alcohol because it tastes bad is destined to drink excessively in five years. Literally everyone says that the first few times they drink. Then they either discover girly drinks, or they discover a social situation where they're willing to suck it up to be polite (which starts the slippery slope of acquiring a taste).

You clearly have never downed a mickey of vodka, then partied till dawn. The drinks may suck but the fun you have more than makes up for it.
If you don't like the taste but want to try being intoxicated, try weed or shrooms. Not that harmful, but potent if it your first time.

I know plenty of people who don't like any form of beer or wine or anything where you can taste the alcohol. Most are the sort of person who don't like anything unless it's either loaded with sugar or fat, for whom mashed potatoes, vanilla ice cream, and white wonderbread are the best things imaginable. People who don't like things that 'taste'.

I started drinking late in Senior year of high school.
Drank quite a bit the summer before college. Drank a decent amount during Freshman year of College, drank very little during Sophomore year, and am planning to drink even less in the Junior year.
Is this a good thing (health-wise?) or am I just bored of it and am heading straight for cocaine without even knowing it? =/

I did a bartending stint and there are many mixed drinks that don't taste of burning alcohol.
Here are two light, yummy ones... -bocce ball (oj & amaretto) -peaches and cream (peach schnapps, kahlua, cream)

Beer is an acquired taste. I use to hate beer, but then it became the only thing I could get my hands on, and it eventually grew on me.

You may be a "supertaster", as I am and find alcohol really strong as well. Look it up.

anyone who doesn't like a beer yet is not a man (yet). just like you tried all different kinds of sodas or juices to discover your favorite flkavor and specific brand of that flavor, so must you do with beer.

wine also gets you drunk cheap, if not cheaper. I think more old fashioned people do drink for the taste, or maybe they just drink it for taste because their taste buds are older. OR it could be their body growing tolerance to it over a long period of time.
