You say '(there's) no doubt about that' and 'by the looks of it' quite a lot. I'm not a native English speaker, but I'm a loyal fan of yours ever since I found your youtube channel. Watched all your vids and almost all your casts. It's just something I notice frequently in your casts (especially the 'no doubt about that' ) . | ||

Absolutely true, also 'fairly effective' is probably my worst 'filler phrase' by the looks of it, there's no doubt about that. It's a work in progress, I'm keenly aware of the fact that I've only been doing this about 3 months and I need to train my brain not to resort to those phrases all of the time. I catch myself doing it, but the worst thing one can do is bring attention to it during a live broadcast, I end up getting mad at myself and lose my focus, particularly over the course of 3.5 hour shows with no real breaks. They're on the list of things that need to get axed from the show though, rest assured. There's a difference between catchphrases/words, all commentators have those and filler which serves no practical purpose other than to annoy the viewer. In this case, those phrases are definitely filler and need to go. | ||

But rest assured, I consider these minor flaws in an otherwise awesome and super entertaining podcast. I actually prefer your cast to day9 (who is a more technical and more informative caster), because of your sense of humor. And I don't say this to diss day9, he is my second favorite caster. I just find your sense of casting more enjoyable for my taste. It's only because you posted a couple of pages earlier that you would like some (constructive) criticism to improve, that I posted these comments. I am new to the starcraft franchise and mainly got hooked because of your 'I suck at Starcraft' VODs (which I think you should make more of) I could post pages of praise, but as you said previously, thats only boosting your ego and not much helping you in improving your casting skills. The best example I can give you of me being a big fan is saying I watched almost all your VODs and youtube videos. Just finished watching your BIO finals, so just wanted to add that I thouroughly enjoy your casts. (greetings from your belgian neighbours across the pond) | ||
