JD and coke and HD's annoying voice offers no relief for a broken man, have some compassion!

You're pretty much a god for doing this give-away, heh. May the best man win.
As i'm sure you can see, this is my first post on the TL boards. I am a long-time lurker and i've managed to keep my mouth shut until now. I haven't really had an urge to make an account because i've spent the last seven years playing Warcraft III and WoW competitively, and obviously don't have a beta key to play SCII with. I would therefore not have been able to provide anything other than conjecture and unfounded opinions to this community.
I am going to try to appeal to your pity and explain why I would be a good choice.
I'll start by saying that I have been a Blizzard gamer my entire gaming life. It started with diablo and warcraft as a little kid, and I have continued to play every single blizzard release fanatically since then.
I've probably done the starcraft and warcraft campaigns (1,2 and 3) more than most people, and i've probably logged in more hours online than at least half (I only say half because I don't wish to underestimate how much others play).
I have tried to get my hands on every beta for a blizzard release I could, but to no avail. A friend, who plays maybe once a week, has managed to get his hands on pretty much every beta so far, and from time to time I was able to play on his accounts across various games.
Sob story aside, here is why I would probably put a key to better use than some others:
I actually test the game.
I would guess that the large majority of people use the beta as a means to play the game before it is released. In every beta i have participated in (through a friend's account), i have spent countless hours number crunching, testing random strategies, trying to find exploits, and giving feedback to blizzard. I have tried earnestly to help improve every blizzard game released in the last 12 years, and I would like an opportunity to do so with starcraft II.
With that being said, I don't intend to imply I wouldn't have my fair share of dinking around and enjoying the game, as testing server stress and ladder match-making is also part of the beta. I have been an avid fan of the starcraft e-sports scene for a long time, and have nearly sacrificed my final exams these last few weeks to watch the live streams of just about every tournament out there.
Also - I have been a clan/guild leader in SC, WCIII, and WoW. I tend devote stupid amounts of time to networking and creating a community online I have a large circle of friends and acquaintances that I will be getting together upon release, and could really use an opportunity to start getting the feel for things on Bnet 2.0.
In conclusion, I am absolutely salivating at the mouth to immerse myself in this community, as well as tinker around with the game. I am a very devoted gamer and I feel I could contribute greatly to,(at the very, very least) the discussions on these boards.
I apologize if you were looking for a smaller block of text. Good luck picking out who to give the key to. I hope whoever ends up getting it enjoys it as much as possible. This guy gets my vote. Not that my vote matters since it's your decision... lol
:D

LOL

my girlfriend broke up with me earlier today because i haven't hung out with her in a week. i have been busy joining every contest the past week attempting to get a beta key. now i have no beta key and no girlfriend. it would be great if i had sc2 to keep my mind off things...

I deserve one because I would have preordered yesterday, but gamestop has no option for PayPal and I have no credit card! Besides I loved Broodwar ever since (played even Warcraft 2) and played TFT... Thx for sharing a key and gl to everyone

Congrats to the winners, hope you enjoy it and make the most of it.

Wow, I am so excited. Thank you kyama so much. I just tested the key, works fine.. See you in the beta.
And good luck to all of you guys that dont have one yet, just keep on trying like me, there is light at the end of the tunel.
Thanks again.

I refused to sit around waiting for a key. I have tried my best in the various contests, but I have no luck. (or rather no talent =/ ) I would love a key for me and my friends to share, none of us being beloved by Blizzard.
(48 words)
Also, in the event that invite-a-friend mail comes again, I will definitely contribute any beta keys back to TL.net.
