Linky for the Fair.http://www.fourthavenue.org/
We did indeed get to go and had fun.
Since I had called one day to late to work the fair (balloons) I decided that I'd go back on Sunday(no work that day) and try to do some balloons just on the outskirts of the fair.I ended up twisting balloons in my buddy's glass shop FatHead glass. This is where my weekend is screwed.
I had just finished a balloon hat for one of the employees when I get a call from my lady."Your parents have been in an accident on the I-10" Now I knew they had a "run"(group of bikers usually club members going to meet others and party) to Phoenix so they were on the bike OO. I was able to leave the fair and get home get my lady and be at the hospital before either of the helicopters arrived here at UMC.I couldn't think straight no one knew in what condition they were in and exactly how many had gone down in the group they were in.At least 4 injured was about all we knew.
I spent many hours at the hospital and luckily all 4 that went down are ok. My dad suffered the worst with a broken shoulder and hand all of them have various degrees of road rash and cuts and bruises.I can not tell you how scary this was.
I was told the accident happened because of traffic stopping suddenly because of a car accident further up the I-10 the first few bikes went left and right of a semi that had locked its brakes up trying to stop. Tony and Kathy(the other 2 that crashed) locked their bikes brakes up as did my dad with my mom. My dads bike ended up hitting Tony's bikes rear tire sending all 4 to the pavement. They were going around 60 and none were wearing helmets (stupid bikers)Heres for pics or didnt happen folks.I never did get any pics of my cool 4th ave street fair hats T_T.
My dad has to get surgery in a few days for his shoulder and hand.
Updated photos from the scene and just before.
