As many of you (Well, followers of kpop) know, Jaebeom of 2pm has left Korea.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8GLDXq9ApM Listen for the crying fangirls
"Former 2PM leader, Jaebeom...or I guess we should now say Jay Park, has left Korea. The fallen star left Korea on September 8th, 2009 on an afternoon flight at Incheon Airport with over 500 fans literally screaming, crying, and begging for him not to go." - allkpop.com
It all started few days ago when Jaebeom's Myspace entry was discovered and spread on the web by a netizen.
"Korea is gay... I hate Koreans"
How many people would casually put that on their facebook/myspace when they first move to a country and they're not fitting in/miss their old country/etc.?
This was from when he first came to Korea, during his training days. He even made a formal apology. But it didn't stop the Korean netizens from flaming him left and right.
Although some supported him, many anti-fans did everything they could to make him look/feel bad, including the petition "Jaebeom should commite suicide."
"Go back to America", "I'm disgusted by you"
2PM had to cancel all of their schedule, and Jaebeom couldn't do anything until the controversy was cleared.
Even with Many other stars and 2PM members' support, he decided to quit and left for America, amidst the crowds crying and begging him to stay.
I myself am very disgusted at Korean netizens right now. I know it's not everyone who's like this, but I am ashamed to be Korean for the first time in my life. Anyone could have made the mistake. I doubt that he thinks Korea is actually gay, especially after all the fame he's gotten. I mean really, I can understand the controversy, but to the extreme as to make him leave? To write a suicide petition? Korean netizens have always been known to be notorious, but I think this has gone too far. I look forward to his return.
Of course, this is only one man's perspective. I'm sure others feel differently. So how do you feel?
Poll: Jaebeom - Did he deserve it? (Vote): Korean netizens are crazy. (Vote): Of course, he said Korea was gay. (Vote): I don't care.
Good luck in America Jay. Welcome back.
A lot of information I have on here is from allkpop.com. (I can't believe my first blog was about this!)

Korea: where online petitions DO make things happen.

This and Baezzi thing makes me really think very high percentage of Koreans are very orthodox people I hope I am wrong, but really, how come so many people can hold so much grudge for so long for 1 phrase that person regrets... It's just blind hate...

hahaha "they think im like the illest rapper when i suck at rapping" this kind of defines korean pop culture

Me? I don't give a flying fuck about him or this whole thing.
Karma is a bitch for him.

The Korean entertainment industry is so ridiculously fucked up, I'd rant about it but I wouldn't even know where to begin. It's not the core of the problem anyway. Last month in Korea I realized once again how lucky I am to have grown up in Germany instead of Korea. Still, I love Korea, even though it doesn't make any sense if I think about it rationally.
Anyway, poor guy. He didn't deserve it.
Oh and, I should probably delete this post if I ever become a pop star in Korea.

Nice how the Koreans opt to live up to his comments.
"You didn't like us before? We'll teach you not to like us!!!"

Completely blown out of proportion IMO. Sure he said some things that definitely don't fly, but damn that was how long ago? Jesus christ, while he did say some things that are pretty disgraceful towards Koreans, petitioning for him to suicide is just ridiculous and overboard. Netizens are some fucking sick people.
2PM =( Won't be the same without Jaebeom. Hope he takes some well needed time off and comes back fresh.

Well looks like Korea, besides having the most hardcore starcraft scene, also had the most hardcore troll scene. We could learn things from these people. Maybe even do some good...
Oh the endless possiblities.

Although this is a sad event, the netizen rampage won't stop because there is no way to stop them unless they make it insanely strict like whenever you make an account on a Korean site, you have to put your social security # or something. At least Jay is back home with his friends and family where he can relax. I wish him the best of luck back home and his studies when he goes back to school.

I'm pretty sure you need to put in your social security number to make any kind of account in a Korean website.

Really sad over this - 2pm just won't be the same without him. I hope he has good luck and health in the future and that he's happy with his family back home once this all dies down.
