Fun to play as but kind of hard. And someone correct me if I'm wrong but "open beta" is just the finalized version, right? They don't close it again. That is how it worked with Mabinogi. There was a closed beta then an open beta that is still open to this day. I guess they call it beta because there are still patches and maintenances being released for the games every once in a while.

open beta is pretty much a closed beta with more people before launch. from wikipedia: closed beta versions are released to a select group of individuals for a user test, while open betas are to a larger community group, usually the general public.

Maybe I was wrong about the Mabinogi thing, but I remember my main concern was when I played open beta I was scared they were going to wipe my character, but I remember they didn't wipe the servers after open beta. That might have been the situation. Nexon works similar on all games and I would be so disappointed if they were to do this game differently. Does it say that there will be an open beta though? I know from the official DFO forums people are assuming that the game is coming out un-relinquished. As for the release it should be fairly soon, it is approaching past their word of "a few weeks"...

Could you give the steps how to do if it wouldn't be too big of a hassle. Also hows the summoner class? Seems quite interesting! I'm about to watch Yes Man with Jim Carrey so I won't be on Vent for a bit. Anyways, yes it was hard, at least for me. You have to navigate a website that has almost no English, register, and download the game. That is the easy part. Apparently the Japanese version only allows people from Japan to play the game so you have to use this VPN configuration program to run your internet through some Japanese proxy is my guess. I'm not a technical person, but all I know is when I run the VPN program and I go to www.google.com, it auto directs me to the Japanese Google, which kind of confirms that whole thing. Here is the link to the guide: http://www.mydfo.net/other-guides-f48/how-to-download-install-register-for-and-start-arad-senki-t77-0.htm You can give it a try, it is really fun. Me and StalinRuSh have been playing on the Japanese server so far. And you can really get a feel of how the game plays, but you really are limited. Despite language barriers I have figured out how to work on my skill tree and buy different skills, but I have no clue where I'm supposed to go in the story, or how to do quests. Nor do I know anything related to equipping or buying better equips. At the moment I'm repeatedly beating the first two dungeons on easy and "pro mode" with a level 5 BattleMage. In fact just yesterday night I decided to explore the city and I got lost for 45 minutes because I had no clue where I was going. So after smashing my keyboard up a bit in frustration I found out that there was a hotkey for a map... and I felt dumb afterwards. And I felt dumb walking for 8 minutes back to where I started.
