All that standard mechanical/timing playing in the cj workshop alongside his lack of nerves made him totally miss out the obvious. I can certainly understand his frustration and I've seen his games at WWI that far surpassed the way he played here, but it is certainly no excuse for the way he acted. I remember when boxer lost to shinhwa and he was incredibly pissed off about it by the tone of the interview, but he was still congratulatory and and kept his mouth shut about it. No excuses for the fact that his games were failed cheeses or he should won had he played safer and expected the way his opponent should have played, he just took it. Hell, Nada's been raped by the most obnoxious 3rd rate pro-gamers in several important matches in his career, but he never, ever bitched about it, and became a stronger player every time, crumbling them the next time he met them. But of course he's had his moments, we're all human and it was far more subtle, and I'm a little sympathetic cause of it: But, I mean whats the point even to begin defending yourself, there is a low chance anyone is going to side by you in the first place and its very likely statements would be misconstrued for egoistic remarks by people. Best course of action would have been silence or even a simple congratulatory remark, no matter how empty or unfounded you may find it to be. But man, I would really love to see this translated and see what F91 thinks of all this though... no this is not a lecture, just some thoughts out there that may relate.

He won all 3 games and at the end of the third game Idra said "fucking 14 Nexus" and typed out. LOL Idra is so opinionated and ignorant I REMEMBER THIS ONE TIME SOME GUY BEAT THIS OTHER GUY AND TOLD ME HE USED THE SAME BUILD THREE TIMES AND WON AND THE OTHER GUY HE WAS PLAYING SHOT HIMSELF AND DIED. God, shut up. Why should I shut up? Because you don't want to hear the truth about Idra? Because he's Mani, bitch. On February 23 2009 19:52 Orome wrote: People giving Idra strategy advice and not understanding a word he's saying is getting kind of annoying... Idra's point is that lurker openings are a coin flip, Zerg can either allin or power, if he allins and Terran's prepared with 3 bunkers, he's going to win, if he isn't, he's going to lose. If Zerg powers and Terran's wasted money on bunkers, Zerg's going to win, if Terran hasn't wasted money, Zerg's going to lose. It's not a question of outwitting or outclassing someone, it's just a coin flip and it worked out for f91. His argument for the RA game is that since 2 hatch muta's by far the best choice for Zerg on that map, he devised a build that would have great chances against 2 hatch. f91's 3 hatch would've put him at a considerable disadvantage if Idra had done his usual (and predictable as everyone has pointed out in this thread) builds. Since f91 had no way of knowing that Idra was playing so contrary to his usual style, his decision to go 3 hatch was bad. Now, I'm not saying I agree with those arguments. I think the first is way too simplicistic and there are ways for a superior player to make his skill count and cut down on the luck factor. I also think it was a mistake to pick such an advanced build specifically devised to punish one particular build, when he didn't know how much credit he could give f91 for knowing the map in great detail. But please, if you're going to respond to the strategy side of this, actually respond to what Idra's saying instead of throwing out random stuff like 'you got outwitted', 'he read you like a book' and whatever else you think sounds good. I really didn't mean that entire shpeal to come across as "strategical." I was trying to point out his logical fallacies in his arguments. However, you called me out on some, so I was wrong in some areas.

The series are over, F91 destroyed Idra 5-2, simple as that. There is absolute no need of a rematch Hm. Even I'm not going to defend YellOw's conduct after that match. He went and talked about how Zerg has to 12-hatch to have a chance against Terran and it wasn't ... exactly his best moment. Then he goes and throws a game to get BoxeR eliminated from group stages of the next OSL. ._.

Seriously. Making excuses is one of the rudest things you can do after losing a match. Especially when they are made-up as Idra's are. Idra's cheese fails: "F91 was stupid/lucky" Idra loses to all in: "I had no way of knowing!" Idra loses to standard play: "F91 is lucky i made 1 too many bunkers!" Even worse is his subtle insistence that the outcome of the games isn't any reflection on skill. That is one of the most moronic, backwards arguments there is. How the hell else do you measure skill? You are in korea, therefore automatically better than everyone else? Eh, sometimes I find myself making excuses when I lose a XC/TF race. In my mind, that really is the reason why I lost. Everyone does this once in a while, and often times it hard to realize whether or not you're putting too much blame on luck. Psychology tells us that this is what humans do. They like to look for other things to blame. And although this might not be the best route, as denial will only cause you to look at something else and ignore the true problem, I find that it helps keeps you motivated

If an American Olympic athlete causes a scandal, then they can be forced to pay a fine or even banned from future Olympic games. If Idra causes a scandal, it's just Idra. And I'm 100% sure that the Koreans don't care if you are from the USA or Canada. It's all the same to them. Think before you make retarded posts.

I think many new kids on TL lack the maturity to accurately judge people from a psychological standpoint Yes Idra acted BM, but that warrants no one any right to shit talk. That's just primitive, rude and really stupid. I believe that Idra's comments after the games were an attempt to defend himself, mostly from his own crashed confidence. I'm sure that he's really hurt inside from not performing up to everyone's, especially HIS expectations. I'm absolutely disgusted by the lack of sensitivity some people have displayed, just beating the guy while he's down. If you are an Idra fan, accept that he is emotional at times, and that his rudeness is ONLY A SELF-DEFENSE MECHANISM. If you are not, get an accurate view on the situation, and fucking leave it be, maybe he'll grow up emotionally someday and turn into a confident, resilient and mannered player, maybe he will not, but your trash talking about him is RETARDED. You may express your disagreement with the fact that he can't accept his losses in the way of what is generally considered good sportsmanship, but be fucking civil about it. In all my time at TLnet, I've rarely witnessed such a moronic flamewar. Rekrul, you knew perfectly well what you're gonna start, and in my opinion, although most of what you rudely expressed has a certain degree of validity, you went too far. You could have been more civil, and I don't really see how all the anger in your initial post is only from Idra's statements post-game, but whatever. As the old and respected member you are, you could have made a more encouraging post, not a bashing post to start this ABSOLUTELY retarded shitstorm. You may have been right, but being so rude is of no help to anyone (especially Idra) - and this COULD have been something beneficial to the whole community, especially since you have first hand experience of what it really takes to be a professional Starcraft player.

his overall game mentality is arguably garbage, but that's much more easily improved than semi-pro level mechanics IMHO I don't even think his understanding of the game is that bad (relative to the level he's playing at), but I think he just needs to become more adaptable/versatile
