this thread is an epic ban trap.
you guys need to take it easy. you may not like Idra's personality, but that's no reason to crucify him. He's undoubtedly a great sc player, and even the best loses sometime (Jaedong vs GGPlay). He's training hard, and there's no reason to try to break the will of the only foreigner in korea (toad does not count)

Next Androide vs F91!!!
Who cares Idra..

Would have been a totally different story if IdrA didn't try to valiantly defend his non-existent honor and mounds of pride and just said "Good job F91, gl in the future" or something along those lines.
|
Given the way he treats most members of this forum, while I don't think it's the greatest idea ever to be flaming him, I don't feel sorry in the least for him. People are only kicking him when he's down because he was such a jerk to begin with. If he acts with humility in the future, I'm sure no one will kick him if something like this happens again.
He made a personal choice to act the way he does on these forums, and these are the consequences. You're not going to convince 100 people to suddenly be ridiculously merciful. It's a mob and it'll act how it acts, not how you think it should act (hint hint)

I'd personally like to see another TvZ (my favourite match-up!! :D).
Maybe F91 vs. Sea[Shield] for the best Broodsport if he's not too busy? That would be AMAZING. Please, make this happen. ^^

Seriously. Making excuses is one of the rudest things you can do after losing a match. Especially when they are made-up as Idra's are.
Idra's cheese fails: "F91 was stupid/lucky" Idra loses to all in: "I had no way of knowing!" Idra loses to standard play: "F91 is lucky i made 1 too many bunkers!"
Even worse is his subtle insistence that the outcome of the games isn't any reflection on skill. That is one of the most moronic, backwards arguments there is. How the hell else do you measure skill? You are in korea, therefore automatically better than everyone else?

Thanks to all the "believers" for making F91 vs IdrA even more sweet. Now we know that IdrA has no skill, experience, or even class. Please learn how to make acronyms...
That aside I totally agree with you Rekrul. If he took this as a humbling experience instead of defending the puny thing he calls his pride, he might actually have gotten the sympathy of the community and could have gotten better. Instead he lost all the favour he garnered over the past year and will probably continue sucking at SC before eventually moving back to the States and sucking at life.

I concur.

Yeah its a shame this has all over-shadowed F91 winning, since he played really well even though i think after 4th game he started to mess about.
|
I can see how those who have met IdrA personally can more easily sympathize, but it's no stretch at all to say that IdrA is a bm player. Even discounting what was said before and after the games, he gave a proper gg only once or twice in the entire series. I can understand his confidence before the game (I'd have thought he was a heavy favorite to win as well) but you'd think this loss would teach him some humility or respect. Doesn't seem that it has. My only two motivations for following a player are respect for their game or respect for their personality. I gave IdrA a chance and he's dissapointed me every chance he's had to prove either of these, so I for one am done supporting him.

The fact is: he is not down at all, he try to make excuse and blame his opponent rather than be a bit more self-critical. F91 maybe not a better player than Idra, Idra beat F91 once in bo3. But you should give the credit to your opponent if he win the series. If you want explain why you lost, you shouldn't make the statement like F91 was acting like a idiot and make none sense decisions. Maybe his decision was risky, but what is about yours? You should look at your mistakes to get better, just keep to point out your opponent is not perfect just make you more like a loser. You lose the series because your opponent make bad decisions and has no mechanicals, etc?
If he explain his lose like what he does (see Rekur's post), he is NOT down. If "IdrA lost a show match and talked about it from a purely logical and strategic point of view" It will be a different story. What is actually "poor wording" means for you ? No respect? Arrogant ? That is always what he does, like he lost once to one Zerg in BO3, and keep call that zerg as Noob, cry about Ultra imbalance .. . That is just hilarious. I couldn't remember when it happens, it was quite a while ago. People don't let you go away with this kind of attitude.
Rekur's post is just perfect OK. He should feel what he do wrong, otherwise he never learn. You want to keep him away from this kind of blame?
Don't always point to someone else if you fails!!!! People will not post this kind of thread against you.

Ok, when IdrA went to Korea, I was surprised that he was chosen out of all the foreigners. Nontheless, I always knew he was a bm kid (18 or 19 now?) but that didn't really bother me. I was pretty neutral about IdrA being in Korea, expecting that he wouldn't accomplish anything significant at least for a couple of years, seen by his at best mediocre results in tourneys (Courage, TSL, WCG... list goes on)
Haven't heard from this kid for awihle, with NonY stealing the spotlight only to leave Korea soon, and I was frankly excited for a showcase between IdrA and F91. As usual, IdrA was arrogant in his pre-match comments but what he said had some credibility. With months of Korean training under IdrA's belt, I figured F91 was clearly the underdog, especially since this was TvZ. Ok that's all fine, building up hype before the showmatch is acceptable but when I saw the games, I lol'd.
One thing that bothered me was that IdrA typed "g" in 2 consecutive games, (I HIGHLY doubt that was a "typo") and quit game 7 after getting buttfucked by muta micro in an straight-up typical game that he should have practiced against 12 hours a day. To my eyes, that was really unprofessional, considering this kid is technically a progamer in the CJ Entus team. Typing out "gg" is basically an unsaid requirement (Typing gg was a rule in TSL, and it should be in Showmatches) and I'm sure you type the full "gg" in your practice matches. Remember, thousands of people see the games and you owe it to yourself, nevermind all the people watching, to execute the most BASIC form of etiquette.
And no rematch please. IdrA lost 2-5 to F91 in a decisive fashion. The pregame talk was to be expected from you IdrA. Your gameplay was disappointing to say the very least, and your lack of manners clearly showed. Your postgame comments were just trying to rationalize the shell shock and frustration you felt after getting beat by the superior player, at least that day. I could have avoided all this dirt that Rekrul posted about you and lawl'd in private but because I had to see it when I was watching the games, I guess I got annoyed.
Well, good luck to you kid. Hope I don't need to experience this kind of negative drama again in what could have been a great series.

You must note however that Idra didn't intend for those comments to be made public (afaik). It was more of his personal rant, nothing official. Rekrul just decided to post it anyway. (At least this is my understanding of it.) Anyway I agree with those that are saying that this entire ordeal is stealing F91's spotlight. He played fantastic, best zerg outside of korea ever imo. He was a great sport to agree to play with TL (though I guess he got paid lol)

Don't be so harsh on Idra. He played pretty well, he just made a couple of silly choices.Even chill said he was playing more and more like Koreans.
Sure he's a little over confident, but he should be. He needs confidence if he wants to last in Korea.
It'd be good if he looked down upon other people less though. As for his responses, He's a man. We protect our egos, always.
